"I used to feel good in my body."

"Now I just feel heavy, bloated, and uncomfortable."

"What happened to me?"

Here’s what I’d say to her:

You didn’t let yourself go.

Your hormones shifted. Your stress load increased. Your body adapted to survive.

This isn’t your fault.
And it’s not your forever.

There is a kinder way to restore your body — without diets or guilt.

I found myself thinking...

“Why am I so tired all the time?”
“Why does no one else seem this exhausted?”
“Maybe I’m just being dramatic…”

But here’s what I’d tell her:
You’re not weak.
You’re not imagining things.
And you’re definitely not the only one.

When your body is whispering and your hormones are shifting. You find your system is crying out for support — not judgement.

I used to think:
“I’m ruining everything.”
“I can’t stop snapping.”
“What happened to the old me?”

But here’s what I’d say to her now:
You haven’t lost yourself.
You’re in transition.
And what feels like chaos is your body crying out for balance.

This is not YOUR forever.
Let’s help you come back to centre — without guilt, and without guesswork.

There was a time I was scared of myself.

I didn’t know who I was going to wake up as — calm Julia? Tearful Julia? Snappy, angry, overwhelmed Julia?

It felt like I was walking around in someone else’s skin.

That wasn’t me being “too emotional.”
That was me being hormonally out of sync.

I want you to know…

It was the hot flushes. 🔥

That overwhelming heat that makes you feel like you might just combust, forcing you to fling open windows, strip off layers, or—apparently—dash outside in your smalls for a bit of relief.

It was mortifying. And it kept happening.

Until she made one change.

💡 She drastically reduced her sugar intake.

Not a total ban. Not a miserable life of ‘never eating anything nice again.’

Just small, strategic swaps. A shift in how she fuelled her body.

And the result? Fewer hot flushes. Better sleep. More energy. More control.

No more emergency garden trips. No more feeling like she was losing her mind.

Just a version of herself that felt so much better.

So, if sugar has a sneaky hold on you… it might be time to rethink it. The difference could be bigger than you realise.
