Here are 5 Healthy habits for when you're working from home!
1) Develop a morning routine! - a routine that's tailored to you which you do over and over again to flip the switch in your brain to tell you it’s time to get into ‘work mode’.
2) Open windows! (even in the winter) - indoor air is often 10 times more polluted than outdoor air, so open your windows or invest in an air purifier to improve the quality of the air you breath all day.
3) Move your body! - anything from a few desk stretches to a lunchtime walk, because chances are you aren't moving move if you're working from home.
4) Plan your breaks! - set a rough schedule to take regular breaks as they refresh the mind, replenish your mental resources, and help you become more creative.
5) Remove your distractions! - from unwashed dishes, emails, social media, or clutter, it's almost impossible to not get distracted working from home. Schedule time for chores in your breaks and set boundaries.

If the past two years have taught us anything, it is the fact that we now live in a world where stress, uncertainty and change are more prevalent than ever. We also know that exercise plays a pivotal role in our well-being with evidence pointing to the fact that the chances of suffering long term health damage from COVID-19 were reduced by 30% in those people who lived active lives.

Here are five top tips to help you get the most mental benefit from your workouts:
1) Moderation is key - moderate shorter workouts are key
2) Know that every little bit counts - look up 7 minute workouts
3) Work out with others - team sports, jog with others or group workouts at the gym
4) Do yoga - and do it in the evening before bed
5) Lift weights - and don't focus on how heavy they are

We are always sharing useful and realistic information in the Wellness Hub from our range of expert partners, we would love to have a chat about how you and your team can become members 😊

DID YOU KNOW? Studies have shown that our Emotional Intelligence is 80% responsible for our success!

Mastering your emotions in the workplace can make a world of a difference to your experience at work as well as your overall success, but what is Emotional Intelligence exactly? A persons emotional intelligence is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to facilitate high levels of collaboration and productivity. When a persons emotional health is in bad shape their self esteem suffers hugely.

Hard conversations at work are, well, hard…..but unavoidably necessary.

Whether it’s a conversation around poor performance, misconduct, or even termination there is a risk of conflict. So, as putting our heads in the metaphorical sand isn’t an option.

We recently shared 9 tips in the Wellness Hub, to keep in mind before and during your next 'hard conversation.' The list is neither prescriptive nor exhaustive but hopefully it’s a helpful opportunity to pause for thought and set you up for success.

Ditching the assumptions, strategies to harness emotions, and avoiding the blame game are just an idea of 3 of the 9 tips we outlined.

DID YOU KNOW?

Circadian rhythms have an important purpose: they prepare your body for expected changes in the environment and, for example, the time for activity, time for sleep, and times to eat.

There are few things better than a good night’s sleep, but many of us struggle to catch enough Zs. If you struggle to fall asleep and wake up at a set time, or catch yourself yawning throughout most of the day, your circadian rhythm could be off. Studies have shown a possible link between healthy circadian rhythms and coordination, cardiovascular activity, cognition, weight control, immune function and digestion.

For access to expert advice on how to optimise your circadian rhythm get in touch to see how The Wellness Hub can help you and your team reach your optimum wellbeing!
