☀️ 19 Days Until We Can Make Vitamin D Again! 🌿

Struggling through winter? Good news—we’re less than 20 days away from being able to make vitamin D from sunlight again in the UK! But why can’t we produce it right now?

❄️ Weak Sunlight – The sun is too low in the sky, and UVB rays (needed for vitamin D) are too weak.
⏳ Shorter Days – Less daylight = less time outside.
🧥 More Layers – Cold weather = covered skin, blocking sun exposure.
🏡 Indoor Life – We spend more time inside, missing out on natural light.

It's Pancake Day!
🥞FLUFFY GREEK YOGURT PANCAKES (25 min)
120 mls Cow's Milk, Reduced Fat
75g Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Egg
1 tbsp Honey
170 grams Unbleached All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/8 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Coconut Oil (for the pan)

🥞In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, Greek yogurt, egg, and honey. Whisk in the flour, baking powder, and salt and continue to stir until just combined.
Heat a pan over medium-low heat. Add half of the oil to the pan and allow it to melt. Spoon the batter into the pan in 1/4 cup portions. Cook pancakes for about two to three minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining batter adding more oil to the pan as needed.

We all know the importance of exercise in improving our health outcomes but findings of a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine has found that walking at a 'fairly brisk' rate was related to a even lower risk of type 2 diabetes.

In fact, the faster the walk, the lower the risk!

You don't need to match Mo Farah's speed around the track - just aim to walk so that your breathing is faster than normal but so that you are not out of breath. Remember, the more you do, the stronger your heart will be and the faster you can walk but this will develop over time so take it easy at first!

If you have a friend or dog to keep your company, even better but otherwise how about finding a local walking group to keep your pace and motivation up.

Sometimes we don't know how absolutely dreadful we feel until we try a new way of living!

My client was adamant that he didn't want to change his lifestyle too much and especially his weekend traditions with friends and family.

I didn't even need to ask him to! 😉

We agreed on only a few additions to make to his food and a few swaps - the difference in 4 weeks has been AMAZING!

So inspiring to anyone out there that can't face making big, drastic changes to diet - you don't need to. Just be consistent and committed to the changes you do make.

Of course, it helps hugely to have a cheerleader on your side - and that's what I am for all my clients in their desires to achieve their personal goals.

Feeling so happy to receive this from a lovely client who by working with me had blood tests to suggest she had Hashimoto's Thryoiditis, an autoimmune thyroid condition which has just been diagnosed by a Consultant Endocrinologist - no wonder she felt so tired and was struggling to lose weight for a few years!
