Today is ALevel (and other Level 3 qualifications) results day and we recognise that this day brings mixed feelings to our community. There are families who will be grieving what they expected their family to look like, there will be those that are frustrated and angry about 'what could have been' with different support and there are those who will have young people receiving results today.

If your young person is receiving results today then we hope that the results are as expected and they are happy with them and their next steps.

If not don't panic and seek advice and support from their school / college for the next steps - see this information from UCAS https://www.ucas.com/applying/after-you-apply/clearing-and-results-day/after-results-day/after-you-get-your-exam-results and make sure that they have the mental health support that they need.

If the next step is a Higher Education (university) course then don't forget they can apply for Disabled Student Allowance https://www.gov.uk/disabled-students-allowance-dsa (this is for all young people with additional needs - they do not have needed to have an EHCP during their time at school / college) to provide them with support during their course. If they will need help with independent living then they may also be eligible for social care support and they should request an assessment from Warwickshire as their home Local Authority https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/adults-social-care/finding-best-way-us-support/1 even if they will be living elsewhere.
