Tommy is seeking the shade and wearing his sunglasses to enjoy the sun safely today.

July is UV awareness month and today's UV index is 6. If the sun's UV rays are 3 or above, consider ways you can enjoy the sun safely:

🌳 Seek shade: take a break under trees, umbrellas or parasols
👕 Cover up: wear loose fitting clothing, ideally covering your shoulders, a hat and UV-protection sunglasses
☀️ Apply suncream: choose at least SPF 30

🎗️ Did you know nearly 1 in 3 people don’t attend their cervical screening?

Cervical screening is not a test for cancer, it helps prevent it by checking for the HPV virus. If you're aged 25 - 64 and have a cervix, you're eligible for screening.

You’ll get an invitation through the NHS App, by text or by letter asking you to make an appointment. If you missed your last appointment, you don't need to wait for an invitation to book in.

📅 Book your appointment when you're invited or if you're overdue. It could save your life.

National Blood Week (9 to 15 June) raises awareness about the importance of blood donation and thanks voluntary blood donors for their life-saving contributions.

The NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) analysis revealed an annual shortfall of over 200,000 donors needed to meet the growing demand.

This week aims to encourage more people to become blood donors to ensure a sufficient and safe blood supply for those in need.
