To improve access and reduce wait times for GP appointments, we are introducing a total triage system from Monday 1st September 2025. From this date all GP appointment requests and queries will be reviewed by a GP. Based on your clinical needs you will be offered the most appropriate outcome such as an appointment, advice, or referral to other services.

*Mounjaro for weight loss in General Practice*
We are currently unable to prescribe Mounjaro for weight loss and will provide an update when we receive one.
The Government recently announced a gradual 12 year roll out of treatment across general practice. We are awaiting an announcement from NHS England about when we can start prescribing this. (They need to provide an additional service with wrap-around support for diet, exercise and lifestyle advice before we are allowed to start prescribing).
When we can prescribe this, in the first phase patients must meet the following criteria for us to be able to prescribe Mounjaro for them for weight loss:
Have at least four out of five of these conditions:
1. Type 2 diabetes mellitus
2. Hypertension (high blood pressure)
3. Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ischaemic heart disease [angina], cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure)
4. Obstructive sleep apnoea
5. Dyslipidaemia (high cholesterol)
AND
A BMI at 40 or over (37.5 or over for patients of South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds).
If a patient does not meet these criteria then the practice will not be able to prescribe Mounjaro for weight loss in primary care. The eligible groups are expanded every year in line with the Government’s 12 year roll out plan. We can offer lifestyle support from our Health & Wellbeing coach, but please note they are NOT able to prescribe Mounjaro.

We have been made aware of a scam targeting patients registered with local GP practices. Patients have reported receiving cold calls saying “your GP needs to update your details to avoid you being suspended.” GP practices will never ask for sensitive personal information in this manner.
What You Should Do:
• Stay Alert: Be cautious of any unsolicited calls, texts, or emails asking for your personal details.
• Do Not Share Personal Information: GP practices will never ask for sensitive personal information in this manner.
• Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive a similar call, you should report this to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040 or online via the Action Fraud website
• Spread Awareness: Please share this message with others who may be at risk.
