Another part of my independent work is training and education on posture management and skin protection. I had the pleasure of delivering posture management training in the summer to a dedicated team of product advisors and this week I’m delivering training to a fantastic team at a specialist college.

Throughout my 32 year career I have always been passionate about posture and have delivered training globally to professionals and to under graduate O.T students at many universities.

I firmly believe that my current hands on clinical practice with complex children and adults in the NHS and privately is a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously.
Providing the correct postural support is a vital part of healthcare, it is never ok to compromise on appropriate seating! The body has contours , nobody should be sat on a flat back and flat cushion, everybody needs to have their pelvis supported, these are basic principles that are sadly often not understood.
Support individual body shape to protect posture and skin integrity.

These sessions are planned and led by two paediatric OT’s. Working on building gross motor skills, coordination and building self esteem in a sensory friendly supportive small group.

Not posted for a while.
I have been busy completing some blocks of treatment leading up to the end of the school year and we had the final OT dance , movement workshop of the school year in July. Flow: OT inclusive dance

Have loved being able to treat a wide range of children and seeing how they have progressed with focussed OT intervention.

Another great two sessions today with Flow: OT inclusive dance. We are so happy seeing everyone progress and gain new skills.
In the sessions we work on a range of gross motor skills as well as dance and movement.
These unique sessions are available in Worcester on the first Saturday of the month, ran by two occupational therapists. Small group to offer each child the individual attention they need.
