Audiology Tayside has gained IQIPS accreditation.

IQIPS (Improving Quality in Physiological Services) is a professionally led accreditation scheme aimed at enhancing the quality of physiology services, ensuring high standards of care and safety for patients undergoing tests and procedures.

This accreditation has been years in the making and we are proud to say that we are the only department in Scotland to have obtained this level of recognition. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🦻

Two menopause discussion events will take place at Tayside Deaf Hub on Thursday 24 October and Thursday 28 November from 10-11.30am.

These sessions are a chance for members of the deaf community to come to a safe space and share experiences, learn about the menopause and its impact on women's lives and find out about what resources and support there is. Interpreters will be at these events along with two health improvement officers.

Thanks to all our volunteers

For we asked some of our volunteers why they love to volunteer.

Here’s Susan’s story:

"I began volunteering back in March 2022, firstly on reception at Roxburghe House. I then went on to audiology in July 2022 and once a month I re-tube hearing aids and give out batteries to those who attend our drop-in clinics.

"I enjoy meeting people who come in as they often share a wee story and have a chat whilst I’m repairing their hearing aids. People are very thankful for the service we provide."

If you are interested in volunteering with us please contact Tay.volunteeringservice@nhs.scot

Have you heard about the Edinburgh Deaf Festival happening in August...

"Edinburgh Deaf Festival is an accessible celebration of deaf culture, language and heritage. Our aim is to bring the arts to deaf audiences, giving deaf people access to festivals in a way that they haven’t had before. Our festival also gives mainstream audiences the opportunity to learn more about our rich deaf culture whilst enjoying a variety of performances."

Edinburgh Deaf Festival is an annual celebration of deaf culture, language and heritage. Performances in BSL, accessible to all.
