Breastfeeding awareness week! I was so excited a couple of weeks ago to be part of Magdas amazing group photoshoot to raise awareness- these pictures make me feel so emotional, everyone looked so beautiful!

Here’s my personal bf story:
1st baby Eve- bf for 6 months - I felt pressure from others to stop I wanted to do all the “right things” and didn’t feel the confidence to listen to my instincts. She was happy but I felt guilty

2nd baby Dylan - bf for 14 months- loved feeding him . When he was 1 we followed the “expert advice” and the trend of that time of controlled crying to get him in his cot. It broke my heart and I’m glad “professional advice” and expectations have moved on from then. I did get better sleep but every fibre of my being felt it was wrong.

Baby 3 Isabella- bf 2 1/2 years - total b**b monster and she was obsessed. I tried to stop multiple times for my own sanity- she loved “pink and yellow” (her names for my b**bs) and anytime of the day she demanded it. Eventually followed “Booby moon” book - we had a little ceremony and the balloon took b**by Milk away for the other babies who need it. (Mam guilt again!! But massive relief also)

Baby 4 - Maya - nearly 2 and still going. Eventually found I don’t care what others think, I can listen and follow my intuition and follow her but with some boundaries. Also learnt that co-sleeping seems SO much easier and natural (although it means being a bit stuck on evenings).

I love:
Snuggles and binging on box sets in those early days and weeks of breast feeding.

I hate:
Trying to stop when baby doesn’t want to- and the ni**le fiddling when they get older!! 😫

What I’ve learnt over the last 13 years:

Let go of the “should” and “should nots” if it feels right or wrong for you follow that instinct it will never lie.

My advice to others:

There’s no “right way” apart from the way that feels right for you and your baby. If you feed for 2 weeks / 2 months or 2 years if it feels good for you that’s the only thing that matters. Always follow your gut feeling, try to be easy on yourself and try to let go of the guilt!

🕊️ 10 minute Pause for Peace 🕊️

No need to book anything, no links or online connections - just find your space -9pm - wherever you are and come back to yourself and take a Pause for Peace with me. Together.

Words can’t really explain the feelings that come up with all the events in the world at the moment.

I have been practising my own meditations but struggled to join in with other groups due to their timings.

I’m not normally one for raising my voice, campaigning, feeling rage but I feel a steady flame of something I want to spread!
We need change and to do that we need action. I can’t go to protest in London like the thousands that were there this weekend, but I can choose action- a small, quiet action.

There are many meditators and people in prayer all over the world right now doing similar things as this, choosing a time or a moment to meditate together for peace.

I love Pam Gregory who, over a year ago set up a meditation practise at 7pm every night- and Hope Fitzgerald at 7.30pm on a Monday. (Feel free to join them if you can!!!) As much as I try - with young kids this is bang on in the “witching hour” between bath and bed, chaos and snuggles.

So I have committed to my daily time of 9pm. Just 10 minutes. (Scrolling time would easily be more than this!!)

A little pause but with big heart, if you feel the call to take some action please join me and this community.

If it’s only once or maybe a few times in a week. I’ll post little reminders now and again and hopefully this little action will call to you and your hearts power. 🙏❤️☮️🕊️

(If you’re not familiar with the power of group meditation for peace and you’re curious about this type of thing I would recommend looking into the work of Liz McTaggert and Joe Dispena - there’s loads out there but I found these a good place to start. )

40 day rest program done!!! It’s actually been a bit longer than 40 days but life got a bit in the way so I’ve added on days that I missed.

After what feels like a massive couple of months….. working really hard to (nearly) complete my Level 3 reflexology training- it’s been a mammoth task and so close to completing now!
Taking on new clients, focusing on fertility reflexology, plans to grow my business and offer new classes and event (all coming in Autumn!) and the most important part of life - kids and mam life!
This week I had an amazing night on the beach with Maya - (involving a VERY late night as I ended up being lost trying to get out of Hartlepool and ended up at Peterlee)

Top it off with a gorgeous 2 nights away in Barry (Motorhome) right on the end of school….. so I am very much in need of rest today!

I have loved every peaceful moment of this program, it’s never easy to stick to these things but so worth it! I have been asked by a few friends and clients to make up my own rest programme for “nackered” women!!

It was such a pleasure and a privilege this weekend to help and assist with Inges Reiki 1 training. It’s always mind blowing to see and feel the reiki energy especially with women totally new to it. They were all naturals and even more special to spend the weekend with the little warrior Pip! I could also quite happily listen to Inge all day talk about particles.

This time offering relaxing hand / arm massages and a group meditation in nature! 🙏❤️

Based in Redcar & Cleveland Woods & Waves Forest and Beach School CIC is run by a small, passionate team dedicated to helping children, young people, and families connect with the natural world.

Recently, with support from Tees Foundation they have started running Wellbeing Sessions for all unpaid carers. So whether you’re a parent carer or caring for a partner, sibling, friend, or elderly relative you can take time for yourself in nature.

As part of a business plan I am writing I asked for some “help” describing my ideal client. I realised as I read it, it was describing me!

One of the main reasons I do what I do is to help other women who I empathise with, who I understand, I get it….the constant mental and physical load the challenges women face. I quite liked what Chat GPT came up with…..

Can you resonate?!! If so I hope that I get to welcome you sometime to either an event, women’s circle or therapy session. Whether that is massage / reiki / reflexology all the things I offer are especially for you! (My ideal client!) xx
