✨ Remembering Holly ✨

My heart is heavy. My friend and client Holly, has passed away at just 35 years old. A devoted mummy to her two beautiful young children, she came to me for holistic treatment to support her health challenges and in 2021 was diagnosed with the rare autoimmune condition GPA vasculitis.

She found comfort in it all.... Acupuncture, Reiki, Reflexology, TuiNa, lymphatic massage, meditation — she poured herself into every session. Yet I was the one left in awe of her — her resilience, her humour, her sheer determination to keep going despite everything life threw her way. I was privileged to see her vulnerability, but she always tried to show strength wherever possible.

If I’d known that my hospital visit with her just a couple of weeks ago would be the last time I saw her, I would have hugged her so much harder.

Holly’s legacy will remain with me - the importance of truly appreciating our health, of being grateful for the gift of life.

To Holly’s wonderful family and children — who are nothing short of incredible — I send all of my love as you navigate this pain. Holly was truly one of a kind, and she will always be remembered by me, and by so many in our community. 💜

My experience with Kristina at Harwood Fertility has been nothing short of miraculous. For over 30 years, I have experienced increasingly debilitating symptoms that, for many years, were dismissed by doctors and never properly investigated. The recent onset of perimenopause only exacerbated what I now know is adenomyosis (after other investigations with a private sonographer, Bill Smith), leaving me feeling like there was no road out as things got worse.

Finding Kristina was like finding a beacon of light. After just three months under her compassionate and expert care, I feel like a new person. For the first time in regard to this issue, I felt truly heard and understood. She has a truly magical touch; her tailored approach has transformed my chronic menstrual and perimenopausal symptoms from a constant struggle to a completely manageable and normal part of life.

What sets Kristina apart is her holistic approach. She seamlessly incorporates other relatable complimentary therapies into her treatments, which has been incredibly beneficial. Furthermore, her invaluable life coaching support, woven into our sessions with practical little tips and hints, has helped to streamline my life in countless ways.

What actually goes on in a treatment?

Following on from your Fertility or Women's Health Consultation are your follow up appointments.

Each follow up appointment is 60 minutes long. We always begin with a cosy herbal tea and chat. Talking through how you've been feeling physically and emotionally. With these signs & symptoms in mind I also check in on your tongue and pulse diagnostics to guide my treatment.

Then it's time to sink into the bed as I gently needle, guided by breathwork. I often blend in other therapies where needed like:

🌱 We start with your full story. That’s why your first Fertility or Women’s Health Consultation begins with a detailed intake — exploring your history, symptoms, and overall wellbeing.

🌱 I also check your tongue and pulses (classic TCM tools!) your test results and BBT charts if you have them. This then allows me to create a personalised diagnosis and treatment plan tailored just for you.

🌱 Once I have nailed your diagnosis this guides where your needles will be placed.

🌱 As a cyclical woman we also take into consideration each phase of your menstrual cycle or the role of the IVF medication I am working to support too.

🌱 Your diagnosis evolves as we move through your treatment plan.

When this lovely client first came to me, she was carrying the emotional weight of a long fertility journey—natural conception hadn’t worked, her first IVF ended in an ectopic pregnancy, and her second ICSI cycle resulted in failed implantation and no embryos to freeze.

She was eager to jump straight into another IVF round, but together, we gently created space to pause until August. This gave us time to truly assess what was happening—physically, emotionally, and energetically—for both her and her partner.

Their initial tests highlighted how much stress was impacting their hormones and overall health. We also explored her vaginal microbiome after she shared symptoms of itching before her period.

Her TCM diagnosis revealed a few imbalances:

With weekly acupuncture, her cycle began to regulate, her mood softened, and her resilience grew. She also became more aware of her fertile window—something that may have been missed in past cycles.

And now? She’s pregnant. Naturally.

She still can’t quite believe it—and honestly, stories like this remind me just how powerful acupuncture can be, especially when we take time to tune in, slow down, and support the whole person.
