Produced Moon We make interactive theatre for the digital age, fusing XR and live performance. We put audiences at the heart of the what of what we do. producedmoon.co.uk

Produced Moon has two artistic directors who work collaboratively to create mixed reality, VR and theatrical works. Our Joint Artistic Directors are digital artist and mathematician Melanie Frances and queer immersive theatre maker Leonie Rae Gasson. Our work ranges from escape rooms to game theatre, participatory digital storytelling to 360 degree film. We play with form and push at the boundarie

s between live and digital work. We put care at the heart of our processes. We care not just about the work we make, but how we make it. We disrupt traditional ways of making to prioritise our mental health, striving for sustainable and kind processes.

Part of our work is participatory, co-creating with communities. We've worked with youth groups, older people and in collaboration with charities. Produced Moon are associate artists at Platform, Glasgow. We are currently mentored by Punchdrunk and Gob Squad. We were 2019 Accelerator Artists at Boundless Theatre, London and one of the New Diorama's Emerging Graduate Theatre Companies 2017. We were in a mentorship and exchange with Coney 2018/2019.

HEXAGONE @ in Easterhouse
11am - 4pm Saturday 9th Nov (free)

🌟 Mark Benet, Europe's rising horror icon, has vanished without a trace. Was it a publicity stunt gone wrong? A sinister plot? Or something far more terrifying?

Step into a world where reality blurs with the supernatural. "HEXAGONE" fuses audio storytelling with mind-bending puzzles, plunging you into a ghostly adventure. This new work has been made by young and emerging artists with Produced Moon (UK) and Storydive (Germany).

The young folks are doing a Q&A at 12pm and they'd love you to be there so they can show off about everything they have done. (After which you can experience the show, AND there's a show by Lyra Young Company at 1pm so come for a fun day out and support these creatives at the start of their journey.)

Glory Mold: 2084

Prototype Exhibition @ The Watershed, Bristol
19th & 20th September 2024
Audio Described tours on 20th - see link in bio for more info.

An abandoned server farm in 2084: as water drips from the ceiling, the light of one last server continues to blink. The server is wrapped in the living tendrils of an intelligent slimy being. Glory Mold has left a part of themselves here to keep the server running.

Glory Mold has been alive for 100 years, an incredible new form of intelligence, part slime mold and part AI, they have spread along rivers, up mountains and through fibre optic cables. Three months ago, Glory Mold flooded every server farm on the west coast of the UK. They saved just one single server. This one.

Enter the world of Glory Mold: 2084.

At Watershed we are presenting our new prototype! Glory Mold: 2084 is set in a speculative scifi future where AI has developed in a completely different way - entwined and in dialogue with the organic world. Glory Mold is inspired by Slime Molds - incredible problem solving monocellular organisms that can learn, move and grow with no centralised nervous system. An organism with over 720 sexes that can live for centuries, and is deeply sensitive and responsive to its environment.

The ever expanding Glory Mold universe has been developed through residencies with DHRH at the University of London and the More than AI Sandbox at the Watershed. Alongside the installation Produced Moon have been developing a workshop inviting organisations into the world of Glory Mold, using it as a tool for reflecting on their own work and strategising for a more equitable future.

Produced Moon wants to publicly state our support for the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).

Academic and Cultural Institutions in Israel have been used for decades to support and normalise the horrific oppression of Palestinian people. Right now, they are a key part of the institutional structure that supports and legitimises Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.

We will boycott any artistic, academic or cultural body who accepts funding from the Israeli state. These funding agreements specifically require individuals to promote the policy interests of Israel, and to create a positive image of Israel. Below is a quote included in these contracts:

“The service provider is aware that the purpose of ordering services from him is to promote the policy interests of the State of Israel via culture and art, including contributing to creating a positive image for Israel”

Right now, these institutions are promoting a state that is murdering Palestinians and destroying Gaza. We boycott any organisation promoting, supporting or not challenging Israel’s current violence. There is no neutral and to be silent is to be complicit. Through boycotts we make daily operations for these institutions difficult and we challenge their complicity.

Our Boycott is focussed specifically on institutions, not on individuals. We want to recognise the academics and artists who are Israeli nationals or migrants in Israel who are standing in opposition to the Israeli regime.

We want to emphasise that this boycott is specifically about the artistic and academic institutions involved in promoting, excusing and normalising Israel’s actions in Gaza. This is not about boycotting Israeli artists and academics who are publicly critical of Israel.

This is not about boycotting Jewish people. We stand against those who have used the fight for justice for the Palestinian people as a vehicle for vile antisemitism. We condemn any form of antisemitism.

Watching the cruel and horrifying genocide of Palestinian people continue to unfold, we want to publicly join in the call for a total and immediate ceasefire: an end to the killing and harming of civilians, and to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, whose aid system is currently on the brink of total collapse.

We call on the UK government to end their complicity in and active support of human rights violations and to push for a diplomatic end to this brutal war. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and with others across the arts sector calling for this action. We ask for others across the arts sector to join us: contact your MPs and MSPs and use the power you have to advocate for an end to this violence.

This war sits in the context of decades of violence and brutality towards the people of Palestine. We must recognise that the roots of this violence lie in the actions and legacies of colonialism, actions in which Britain played a key role and that no population should be forced to live in refugee camps and under fire.

We condemn the disturbing violence of Hamas on the 7th October towards Israeli adults and children which also weaponised horrific sexual violence. And this violence cannot be used to justify the ongoing mass killing of Palestinian adults and children and destruction of Palestine.

All struggles for freedom are entwined and we call for an intersectional response to this genocide for all peoples. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, ableism, Islamophobia and sexism cannot be part of the solution.
