I have always been interested in skincare, I look after my skin and I am motivated, enlivened, and excited by lovely fragrances - but am particularly attracted to natural fragrances. This is why I love Neal’s Yard Organics - so many beautiful scents from carefully extracted essential oils. Couple that with their therapeutic qualities and I’m an advocate.
Neal’s Yard Organics is the first company to be backed by the Soil Association, a family-owned concern that makes all its products in Dorset with ethically sourced Organic resources - from plants!
I am constantly amazed by the quality of the products and the fact that they really do work! I became an Independent Consultant 2 years ago - initially as it complimented my candle making business, Harum Scarum Candles. I use the organic essential oils in my hand poured Soya Candles as the quality is like none other I have used.
As I began to learn more about the company and the products I think I fell love with wellbeing and how the aromatherapeutic qualities of the products can be incredibly beneficial to all on so many levels. Simple things like washing your hands or taking a shower with essential oils can transform that experience.
Apply this to a lifestyle change in approach to your beauty/washing shopping & reviewing your inner health can have a profound impact on the way you feel and how you are in the world. I genuinely wanted to share this experience with others, by sharing the products, helping others overcome obstacles to wellbeing and eventually by taking a hands-on’ approach and becoming a facial therapist.
I absolutely love giving facials, provided an holistic experience of being held, giving clients the space and time to relax and feel cherished. To experience the therapeutic benefits of aromatherapy from the products and from touch.
Anyone can become an Independent Neal’s Yard Consultant and benefit from incredible training & support for their own business and generous discounts on products.
Customers too benefit from a unique relationship with their consultant with lots of opportunities for free samples, full size products, discounts and bespoke advice.

COVID UPDATE
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy
Siobain Drury – Facial Therapist
All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It has impacted on our very existence and many of us have been directly affected by illness and loss of loved ones. These circumstances can’t fail to have impacted to a greater or lesser extent on our emotional wellbeing.
I missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.
My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the cabin, I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time the cabin has been shut, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have since made a number of changes in the way that I operate that you will notice when you next visit.
Booking Appointments
If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately and not use the cabin. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund/voucher.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE CABIN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. You will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness/ other.
Visiting the Cabin
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible.
I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client. I have de-cluttered and removed items from the cabin. PLEASE NOTE that during this uncertain time I will not be able to offer toilet facilities. I have assessed the risk of offering drinks and am happy to continue to do this in a safe way.
All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.
You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the Cabin and we will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon. I will ask if you would mind having a temperature check on arrival – using a smart thermometer. If you would like to test any products that is absolutely fine – but I would ask if you could ask me to assist you or let me know if you have touched any products in my absence – so I can give them a good clean over for the next client.
Please don’t be surprised when I use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit. I will wear a face shield throughout your visit and put on a type 2 mask during your treatment. I would ask if you could wear a mask for your consultation – where appropriate if you do not come with your own mask – you can use one of my disposable ones.
I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority. All towels will be only be used once for you – they will be washed at the end of each session at 60 degrees and tumble dried.
This includes cushion coverings, pillowcases and blankets – they will all be just for you and you alone and then washed.
ALL face towels, pads and brushes will be sterilised in the hot cabinet prior to use.
All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.
Your belongings: Your coast bags and clothing can be stowed underneath the bed in a plastic container that will be cleaned after use.
My treatments
I have carried out a risk assessment on both Facial treatments and Hand treatments and to the best of my abilities, I will follow all precautions available to maintain levels of safe practice. The room will be aired prior to and following treatments and there will be an hour’s gap in between client visits.
However – the air between us will be shared and there is nothing I can feasibly do to prevent this.
During your treatment
I understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that I wash my hands according to with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.
I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to satisfy you.
After the treatment
In order to avoid handling of cash, I would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card / or in advance using bank transfers.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding.
