Easy to do even if you are a legend in North America 🫣😎 we’ve all been there and this young student got his chainsaw pinched in a big ash log whilst processing it…simple fix…Ali wedge 🪓🌲 works every time👍.

When your tree gets stuck/hung up what do you do ? Get out the winch of course, set it up and in this case put in a sn**ch block to redirect the turn, reduce the hinge and winch away…easy really, no rush just do it right 😎🌲🪓 that’s why we train for it, and it happens to all of us even our bothers/sister’s across the pond 🤔🫣😁.

Hi everyone and I hope all is well...here at LBS we have had another cracking week of training/assessing plus bacon butties🥪☕️🔥.

Congratulations to Amy, Aziz, Robert and Sam who all passed their chainsaw cross cut & maintenance assessments with me at the cabin🍺👍.

Congratulations to the team from Glendale Services who all passed their Woodchipper course/assessment with me 🍺🍺.

And it was absolutely wonderful to welcome HighGround to the cabin this week who are a magnificent charity, who help veterans or people still serving to find work in the land based sector...amazing work so please check them out🍺👍😎.

I would highly recommend the LBS Training team and courses! At the end of 2025 I bulk booked my cross cut and maintenance, felling up to 380mm, accessing a tree from a rope and harness + (aerial rescue) and finally using a chainsaw from a rope and harness, the instructors for each of the courses were very experienced and had a lot of knowledge in arboriculture and surrounding topics, additionally I also hired all of the equipment through them which came at a high standard and a echo 2511 (Great saw) ! If your looking to head into a career in tree work seriously check out LBS 💪

Excellent day with LBS Training & Assessing Ltd requalifying cross cutting and maintenance, great location and concise clear constructive instructions to remind us of the essential basics of using a chainsaw safely. Revisiting some of the cuts I had not used for a long time was also useful, a great day and highly recommend LBS if you are considering a chainsaw course at any level.

Unlike what some would say🤔 (you know who you are😁) you don’t need a massive chainsaw to fell decent sized trees😎 here one of my students prepared and felled his tree using a sweep cut technique with a cracking ECHO Global CS 501 SX 😍 what’s not to like…keep your big saws 🫣

The weather this past week has been cracking😎😍👍. I hope it has been where you are too😁.

Congratulations to my students on passing their respective course/assessments this week....chainsaw cross cut & maintenance (4 x brand new ECHO Tools UK chainsaws to have a look at), Felling trees up to 380mm (small trees), our double First Aid plus F courses and 3 x chainsaw/felling CPD Refresher courses💪.

Next week more of the same...lots of courses and assessments😇.

Some fantastic practice tension/compression relief cuts on sideways fallen timber. Good effort from my students, and simulated with a winch bringing a slight bend into the log…works well 😎👍🪓🌲.
