My name is Emma and I would love you to reach out with any questions you have to start or continue on your wellness path! I truly believe that what you learn on the mat teaches you so much more off the mat and it encourages you to become a more authentic person. I am so excited to share this magic practice with you and all that it can bring to your life. I first came to yoga as a way to unwind fro
m a hectic and busy job and being an active person I have always enjoyed sports, running and dance. It compliments people who live a Yang lifestyle greatly and has such an energy and creative flow about it that you really can experience something new and amazing about your body and mindset every single time. I found Yoga would bring me right down to earth so to speak and ground me when I was feeling most anxious or experiencing stressful times in life. I used to suffer with migraines and I would do a lot of high intensity exercise such as boot camp and gym classes but would get frustrated when that level of exercise would trigger a migraine. This was not the outcome I wanted at all. This is when Yoga became my constant bit by bit it would pull me closer! I found it to be the one the area in my life which was stable and it took some effort but not much to roll out my mat and get started. I started with many styles and the classes at the gym which were ok but now I have a deeper understanding of the philosophy behind Yoga. I have tried Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kundalini and now have settled on more a vinyasa practice and Yin has been a savior to me with allowing myself time to slow down outside of family life. I would love you to explore and discover what is truly possible in your body and mind as we connect together albeit virtually we can still have an awesome and inspiring practice together. You will find strength, mobility and flexibility and most of all your health mentally will have the biggest gains from following a dedicated teacher and community. You dont need expensive Yoga pants or anything fancy just throe on your comfie’s or your PJS and lets begin! Join part of the tribe and lets get moving for our health, well-being and for you! 60 hr Yoga Alliance certified Children's Yoga Teacher LKY training school- Oct 2016 - I used to be a childcare professional so this was the next progression I took after having my own children. I love how innocent children are and how their minds and imagination can take them on a journey without judgement. Something us adults tend to loose is our sense of adventure and spontaneity!
> 200 hr Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga Teacher July 2018- I have trained with international wellness advocate, Anya Hawkes who is a senior teacher and master trainer for the renowned Sadie Nardini who founded CSV yoga in the USA. This style is anatomically and bio -mechanically safer for your body to move in line with your bodies deep core line working from the ground up. It is a dynamic flow with a massive focus on how we transition into poses creating space and strength inside and out.
60 hr Yoga Shred - Sept 2018
A fusion of Yoga and HIIT - Yoga inspired high intensity moves completed in short intervals, to build heat and calorie burn and boost metabolism. We start with a core warm -up and stretches before we move into about 20 minutes of HIIT or 'Shred' where we begin to build some cardio or whole body or strength poses. These are all safer for the joints and can be modified to suit the individual. Think 'mindful burpees! We cool down and take time to bring the heart rate back down and finish with relaxation.
>60 hour Yin Training; Nov 2019- I trained with Angela Jervis Reed TORONTO
Long held poses to stretch deep into the Fascia normally held seated for 3-5 minutes. A passive practice but challenging for most as we learn to still the mind and body. I am inspired to be on this path of self discovery and continue to learn how I can take it further and am looking forward to allowing people the space to reconnect with their body and mind. I like to mix things up so my classes will have a intention and general theme but we always have little extras to make class a little fun and expressive! I like to add music to really allow the body to explore and flow to the beat. We always have a lovely Savasana or relaxation to unwind and reap the rewards of working so hard in class with a little added head massage thrown in to aid your heart and mind to fully re -charge. Hope to see you soon on the mat. Emma
