We have heard people say "Acupuncture didn't work for me", but in our experience, most of these people have serious issues and expect Acupuncture to work immediately. It doesn't always work like that.
Imagine a car, with no breaks, careering out of control down a hill. You apply the breaks (Acupuncture) and it doesn't stop immediately, it start to slow. However it's no good just slowing the car and stopping it, you have to get it back up the hill and onto the road. When you carry on and have further treatments, this will pull the (Imaginary) car slower and slower, and then start to turn it around and pull it back up onto the road.
However... and this is the bit where some people don't like it... you have to change your driving habits. There is no use driving that car badly still and expecting to stay on track. You have to drive better, and change your habits to stay on that road again.
This means, in real life, diet changes, exercise changes, emotional support, stress relief and other changes, and maybe get help before you get to the point where you are scared and can't see a way of getting back alone.
Life is like a road, and your body is like a car. We can't always wave a magic acupuncture needle and stop you crashing that car (Sometimes we can, but not often), you have to drive it well. What we can do, is rescue you when you go a bit fast, miss a corner or put the wrong fuel in occasionally.
If you want Acupuncture to help you, you need to have realistic expectations and if you want it to work very quickly, you should try to use it before things get too bad.
