Yes, it happens both sides.
I have been witness to this with a loved one with more than one woman, so on this topic, I’ll give authentic examples, as per.
Emotional manipulation, mainly using a child. In a way of either “baby misses his Daddy” after Dad has set a boundary, or “you aren’t seeing the baby I have a new fella he is his Dad now” or knowing he had plans so decided to say there is nobody to pick baby up using emotional blackmail (although plenty of people whilst she partied). I agree with co-parenting, absolutely- but in a healthy way for the child. Not in a way to control child’s Dad. (Narcissistic)
Attempts of isolation, using false accounts so nobody else wants to speak to him. Driving his other children away from him through their mother. Driving his girlfriend away with lies and stalking her to the point she almost breaks. (Control)
Accusations with police and then acting to hero to look innocent. Acting the hero after destroying him and piling him with medication saying this is what he needs to get better and suggesting he is sectioned. Love bombing with gifts. (Manipulative).
It’s one of worst cases I have ever seen and the list is endless and it broke my heart seeing this loved one lose himself, because of a toxic woman.
This is why, what I bring is authentic. I will never ever sit in a room and talk about anything textbook. I’ll speak of real experiences and how to overcome them.
We don’t talk about the mental or physical abuse men receive enough. One thing standing out to me at the minute is this Baby Reindeer, a woman stalking and abusing a man and now she’s invited to all talk shows. If this was a man stalking and had s3xually assaulted a woman, would the man be invited to talk shows? No he fu***ng wouldn’t. And we say we’re living in a more equal world?
Emotional abuse knows no gender. It’s time to recognise and address the silent suffering of men too 🩶
