The team at Island Ultrasound updated our knowledge with some mandatory training courtesy of Jason from core first aid certification. We covered cpr, choking , aed and anaphylaxis in adults, children and babies.

Luckily for myself and the team the most we have had to handle up to now is fainting dads, luckily we have a comfortable sofa for them to lie on while coming to!!!!!

We invited Jason from core first aid certification.

Jason has a vast knowledge and years of hands on experience as a paramedic. He made the morning entertaining and informative.

If you are thinking of undertaking some basic first aid/cpr for your workplace then I would highly recommend.

It’s now day 13 and Sure unfortunately haven’t been out to fix our phone line after initially saying 2-5 working days, so it’s still down.

My mother in law Ann Whitehead was the reason island ultrasound exists on island today.

She suggested an idea in passing and myself and kirsty built the foundations with the help Of some amazing friends. If it wasn’t for her not wanting us to leave the island our small family friendly clinic wouldn’t exist.

It’s with great sadness that she unfortunately passed away unexpectedly recently and as such it’s been a bit of a difficult time for us both, so we would like to apologise if we are not on the ball answering emails like normal and in due course with time normal service will resume.

She was a very funny lady and was the best mother in law you could ask for. I suggested once she would make a great receptionist and bought her a uniform. Sadly she declined, but in great spirits tried it on for me anyway.

She will be greatly missed by us.

This week Matt and his trusty friend Buddy the skeleton gave a talk to year 4 children at Castel primary school during science week. He talked about how the body works, how we grow and showed some X-rays of broken bones.
