Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing originating in Asia that has been used effectively as a holistic healing method for over 2,000 years. It works on the underlying principle that illness and pain occur when the body's Qi, or vital energy, cannot flow freely through the body's energy channels, known as meridians. There can be many reasons for this, including emotional and physical stress,

poor nutrition, infection or injury. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, the acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the free flow of Qi to restore balance and trigger the body's natural healing response. The five elements are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal and they are a fundamental and integral part of Chinese philosophy. Each element is associated with different organs, seasons, emotions, odours, colours, sounds and times of day. Everyone has all of the elements within them but each person has a particular relationship with one element. Five element acupuncturists seek to find and treat the root cause of disease by diagnosing the element that is in distress. The focus is very much on the individual, not their illness, and treatment aims to bring about balance in the whole person - body, mind and spirit. It is used by many people as a preventative measure to strengthen their constitution; it is highly effective in addressing stress and emotional problems before they lead to more serious illness. Patients often report an improvement in their feeling of general wellbeing, increased energy and feeling more relaxed. I have successfully treated people seeking help with infertility, insomnia, fatigue, menstrual problems, musculoskeletal pain, stress, anxiety, depression, headaches and migraines, skin disorders and many other conditions.

🔔 Rebrand alert! 🔔

I started out as one half of Blue Turtle Acupuncture Clinic back in 2011 in my clinical year of training. Blue Turtle was the name of my class cohort and one of my classmates and I set up a very rudimentary website for our student clinic.

Through a mixture of technological incompetence, a busy work and home life, and laziness (!) I”ve stuck with Blue Turtle and the website ever since.

But the time has finally come for a refresh! From now on I will be… Victoria Moss Acupuncture. How original 😂

I have a new website, logo and email but my phone number is still the same.

And I’m still dedicated to providing my patients with the highest standards of professional care, compassion and personalised acupuncture treatments to help them reach their full potential. ✨

With summer having finally arrived and the sun shining, please protect your and your loved ones’ skins from getting sunburnt. Remember the 5 ‘S’s:

🌞 Slip on a t-shirt / rash vest
🌞 Slap on a hat
🌞 Slop on the sunscreen (minimum SPF 30)
🌞 Slide on some sunglasses
🌞 Seek shade

On Sunday March 3rd some friends and I will be running the Paddock Wood Half Marathon in Kent to raise money for the tremendously brave Alexander, a little boy at our kids’ school.

Xander was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour aged 7 in December 2020. He was given just a 20% chance of survival with the treatment options available on the NHS.

Since then, his incredible family have dedicated themselves to finding and paying for private treatment for him, and the brilliant news is that the treatment is working!

A decision on this treatment becoming available on the NHS is expected at the end of May this year, but until then his family will have to keep funding his private prescriptions and targeted immunotherapy treatment in Germany..

We want to do what we can to help Xander and his family by asking you to sponsor us. Any donation you’re able to make will be SO gratefully received. And just knowing that we’re running for Xander will keep us going the full 21km!

Feeling the Late Summer vibes today! 🍎

Late Summer is a distinct season in Chinese Medicine and marks the transition from the full yang of the summer towards the yin of autumn and winter.

It’s the season of the harvest, when the fruit hangs heavy and ripe on the trees and we can reap what we’ve sown and grown in the spring and summer. It’s also an opportunity for us to take stock of what we’ve got and find a sense of balance and grounding.

The element associated with Late Summer is Earth, which is about stability, nourishment and security. Its organs are Stomach and Spleen which are responsible for digesting and processing not just our food but also the information we receive, our thoughts, and our feelings.
