We all eat the same repertoire of meals and go to snacks.
Utilizing these and planning your week around them can actually be a really good thing for weight loss and help adhear to your diet.
If you enjoy those snacks and meals then eat them and use them to create routine and structure to your eating.
There is nothing wrong in doing so!

Do you find you start a diet with all the good intentions on a Monday, it's all going well on Wednesday but then come Friday its all gone to pot?
So you start again next Monday?
Or perhaps you were fantastically successful with your weight loss journey for a good few months; but holidays, a wedding and a fab night out has thrown it all off course.
So you decide to start again next Monday, But you never quite do?
Or perhaps you have ping ponged in and out of various diets for as long as you can remember? Yo-yoing your way through your 20's and 30's?
Here is the thing; the more you yo-yo in and out of diets, the harder your weight loss journey will be.
Keeping your body guessing whether it will be starved this week or not will have your body hold onto your fat cells because it needs the energy provided by the fat cells to make up for the restriction of calories/energy you are feeding it.
The answer is you need consistency and continued efforts. It is ok to have times off but get back on the metaphorical horse.
If you are not restricting your diet too much, still enjoying the food you love and having a social life then you are unlikely to give up, unlikely to feel like you are missing out and likely to stop the ping ponging back n forth.

What will see you gain weight quicker?
The 🍩 doughnut? - or - The 👶🏽 Baby?
Answer: The baby!
Well in most cases unless you eat a box of doughnuts every day 😂
The thing is children and babies lead to exhaustion. It is a fact of life you will never be as exhausted as you are when you have children.
Mumming is hard right?!?
The stress of it, the mother load, all the things to do, the sleepless nights, the running around... Evvveerryyyyttthhhiiinnngggg.
No matter how young or old your kids are!
So is it any wonder this exhaustion and stress leads us mums to over eat, comfort eat and emotionally eat.
What makes this worse is when you battle against these feelings and desires to eat and deprive yourself, restrict your food and feel even more miserable.
The answer?
◾ Mindfully and consciously eating
◾ Tracking and counting what you are eating
◾ Having go too food to help you claw back a bit of control

Could portion sizes be derailing you?
It is a well known fact that the advertised portion size on the side of the box is aimed at the stomach of a small mouse.
Massively unrealistic and in a lot of cases will lead you falling off the wagon.
Lets take the small bowl of food here on the left. 40g portion. If I had eaten this I can guarantee I will go back for more or hit the cupboard in search of snacks not long after.
So I will be eating what I want, the portion size which will fill me up and leave me feeling satisfied. Incidentally this equates to 85g. Only double the calories at 300kcal
If this is you and the sizes of your portions are leaving you feeling hungry, wanting you more and sabotaging your weight loss efforts here are some tips:
◾ Have what you want to have but be aware & don't free wheel
◾ Measure out that portion & track it
◾ Think about the choices of food, yes coco pops are delish but would something like Shreddies or SpecialK leave you fuller for longer?
◾ Could you have a smaller portion & something else to fill you up
◾ Look at protein as an alternative option; this will make you fuller for longer
◾ Ultimately take back control; measure, track & record.

𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻… 𝗕𝗟𝗥𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗛!!

This is a phrase that gets used so much, especially when promoting positive images.
Now before I go any further, I am not bashing this phase nor the message behind it. If you love the skin you are in and genuinely love your body, warts, curves n all then I have nothing but admiration for you and slightly jealous.
This picture was taken just before I gave birth to my 4th child.
Pregnancy ravishes my body, physically and mentally.
I hate the changes my body goes through, the aftermath and recovery that takes so much time to come about,
Lets not mention the month and months of exhausting parenthood where you eat your body weight in chocolate and cake just to stay awake whilst wishing your old jeans fitted.
So if you do not love the skin you are in, that’s ok.
You do not have to conform to the masses and join the crowd. It is ok to want to change, it is ok to go about this in a healthy and sensible way.
Remember, change does not come over night. It takes dedication, time and patience. .
Consistency is key but you will get there.

📢 INTRODUCING! 📢
I never ever thought I would be a girl mum and for that matter I never thought I would have a baby girl; but after what has felt like the hardest pregnancy of all 4 of my kiddies my daughter is here.
Bowen Alix Tidy was born on 📅 5th September at 37 weeks via 🏥 planned C-Sec ⚖ 8lb 12oz
I went into motherhood in a state of what could only be described as terrified. I will talk about why when I am not as exhausted and can form a coherent sentence but I was so scared for a great number of reasons.
I was looked after under the care of the mental health midwife, between her and all the other incredible midwifes and staff I felt a whole host of previous postnatal trauma being healed.
Cheesy I know, but having never fully bonded with my boys as newborns and struggling with motherhood; I honestly feel amazing.
I am smitten with Bowen, a love I have never felt; my whole perspective and plans have changed.
In the next few days i'll talk all about this and all about my "mental health journey" I think its so important for awareness and support to others.
ANNDdddddddd Oh my; the newborn nights of feeding, winding and changing! You forget don't you?! There is a part of your brain that blocks out the painful heavy eye, headache inducing exhaustion!!

I overheard a conversation of madness the other day; someone was saying to her friend that she was trying a zero fat diet to lose weight.

You need Fats in your diet!
𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧
Fat is a source of essential fatty acids, the body cannot make these itself.
Fat helps the body absorb vitamin A, vitamin D and vitamin E. These vitamins are fat-soluble, which means they can only be absorbed with the help of fats.
Fat is a structural part of our cells membranes, your brain tissue, your myelim sheaths and bone marrow.
Fats contain vitamins such as D,A,K and E, which are antioxidants and are part of cell membranes.
Fats provide the body with energy.
Fats are key for hormone storage and modification, in females fats help produce oestrogen in our bodies
Fats are highly palatable, they enhance texture, mouth-feel and appearance.
Fats give food flavour, aroma, tenderness and palatability, they slow the rate of digestion and can leave you fuller for longer
You can not get fat from eating fat.
Weight gain comes about when we eat more calories than the body needs. Our total daily intake and balance between energy intake and energy use.
Eating more calories than the body needs leads to the excess calories being stored as body fat regardless of the source of these calories (fat, protein or carbohydrate)
If you stick with a good round diet of unsaturated fats, saturated fats and limited transfats you can’t go too far wrong.
