Last client of the day was wonderful.

He attended with loss of hearing despite having a hearing aid and potential wax to be removed.

Client was surprised when I showed him on the camera he had an old hearing aid stuck in his ear .

Hearing aid removed via forceps and then wax that was lodged behind this removed also.

This client has attended the gp and audiology regarding his hearing issue but was unaware that this was stuck inside his ear.

Lovely way to end the day 🙌🦻

Morning everyone what a lovely day for some sun and to hear again ! ☀️👂

Large wax plug removed from one ear this morning post gp visit where the client was prescribed olive oil drops.

Client had both ears compacted but I forgot to take a picture of the first removal which was significantly larger. Clients hearing returned instantly post removal which is the best satisfaction of the job!

Wax removal via microsuction or irrigation is £60 for both ears
£40 for one ear only
If there is no wax present it is £30 for the consultation and specialist camera.

Incredible skin ribbon removed from one ear this week.

Keratin buildup in the ear refers to an excessive accumulation of keratin, a protein found in skin cells, hair, and nails, within the ear canal. This buildup can form a plug, causing discomfort, hearing loss, and other symptoms.

Large wax plug removed from one ear this morning .

Clients hearing reduced and became muffled while on holiday. Olive oil was used to soften the wax plug and removed this morning via irrigation.

Clients hearing instantly returned 👂🙌

Make sure if you are going on holiday to get your ear checked prior for any wax or keratin (skin) build up. This will reduce the risk of blocked ears , hearing loss , infection or any discomfort while you are on your holidays ☀️🕶️

Large wax plug impacted with hair removed from both ears.

This is common especially in men who have regular trims and cuts of their hair. This can cause your ears to itch and when the hair sticks to wax present in the ear it often stops the migration of wax from moving out of the ear therefore causing a blockage.

Great wax removal this afternoon.

Large wax plug was adhered to the ear drum causing the client to lose hearing in that ear and also experience slight discomfort before she started use of a medical grade olive oil spray.

Upon removal clients hearing returned instantly 👂🙌

Large wax plug removed from one ear !

Client felt a build up in their ear and also down their jaw. This is a common feeling when a plug of wax or keratin is pushing against the ear drum.

Post removal client felt immediate relief and hearing will return to full working order.

Emergency removal this afternoon prior to going on holiday tomorrow !

Large hard wax plug removed from one ear.

It is inportant to get your ear checked and wax removed prior to going on holiday to reduce pain, loss of hearing or infections which may be caused in the swimming pool or sea.

A lot of ear wax pictured below!! 👇

Removal this morning from one ear from a client in his 70s who has never had wax removed before.

As you can see this was is very dark in colour which we refer to as oxidised this means it has been there for a long period of time mainly years and has been exposed to air.

Due to his work this client wears ears plugs daily which stops the migration of ear wax out of the ear meaning it stays in place but keeps producing more and more.

This client understandable felt immediate reliefe once this was removed and increased hearing.

Hello everyone really interesting case this morning of a large keratin build up in the ear which left the client with impaired hearing.

Keratin buildup in the ear, particularly in a condition called keratosis obturans, can cause pain, hearing loss, and inflammation in the ear canal.

It occurs when keratin, a protein that makes up skin, nails, and hair, accumulates abnormally in the ear canal, forming a hardened plug. This buildup can block the ear canal, leading to discomfort and impaired hearing.

Like your body sheds skin so does your ears however there is a few factors as to why the skin will not always migrate out of the ear canal most commonly due to narrow canals, age, dry canals and sometimes due to skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis ect

This can be removed using microsuction or specialized tools and techniques to safely remove earwax and dead skin.

Using a regular olive or almond oil spray such as Earol can help to lubricate the ear canals inbetween removal and help the skin to migrate out of the canal.

First time ear wax removal for a client this afternoon in his 70s.

First picture is his ear which is fully occluded with wax via the otoscope.

Second picture is what was removed from one ear.

This client immediately felt relief and his hearing improved instantly.
