🎀Closing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Gratitude 🩷

As we conclude the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we would like to acknowledge the tremendous effort of the entire staff and members of the Nottingham Breast Institute (NBI) team.

Your hard work, compassion, and commitment to providing exceptional services to our patients never go unnoticed and for that we say a BIG THANK YOU 🩷🌸

To celebrate our teamwork and cultural diversity staff members organised an International Fuddle - which was a beautiful gathering that brought friends and colleagues together to celebrate our cultural diversity with food while also raising awareness and support for Breast Cancer. 🎀

The fuddle was met with a lot of positive energy with everyone chatting and connecting with other team members while enjoying a variety of staff home made dishes. 😊

Thank you Team NBI for all you do. 🩷

🌸Moments From The Recent Charity Beauty Show Organised By Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre in Partnership with John Lewis & Partners Nottingham 🎀

🩷We were thrilled to be present at this charity fundraising beauty show, supporting breast cancer research. It was an event filled with information, knowledge, laughter and some 🍾 bubbles 🥂

🩷We had a talk from Professor Emma Wilson, who shared information about the research centre and her own breast cancer research project.

🩷Akpevwen Ogbon from our Unit gave a live demonstration with a Breast Prosthesis on the signs to look out for when checking the breasts.

🩷Alex from H.E.R BodyWear spoke about her breast cancer experience and the inspiration behind creating her brand of Bras

🩷The highlight of the day was a beautiful live makeup tutorial given by a makeup artiste from M·A·C Cosmetics Nottingham 💄

🩷Not to forget, the guests participated in a raffle draw with lots of amazing prizes that were won. 🎀🛍

🌸WEAR IT PINK 🩷

On the 24th of October was Wearitpink Breastcancerawareness Day in honour of Breast Cancer Survivors and those who have been affected by Breast Cancer.

Staff of the Nottingham Breast Institute graced the day styling themselves with a touch of pink and hosting a Bake Sale 🍰to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer!

It was a very successful day filled with warmth, laughter and teamwork - which brings to mind our strength and compassion as a team at the NBI

During the recent visit from the Nottingham Forest Women Football and Netball Teams at the Unit, one exciting thing that stood out was the keen interest shown by the players during the tour of the unit, in getting information on Breast Cancer and knowing what we do.

They were also very happy to support in raising awareness on Breast Cancer. 🩷

We thank the team for coming to the Unit to see what we do and help raise awareness on Breast Cancer.

Our appreciation goes to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity for their constant support towards projects and activities needed in the NBI.

At our recent visit with the Nottingham Forest Women Football and Netball Teams we were able to share with them the wonderful projects that the NUH charity has sponsored in the Unit.

It is amazing to have such a great support. 💪🏽

We are passionate about Raising awareness on Breast Cancer this Breast Cancer Awareness month

Recently, players of the Nottingham Forest Women football and netball team visited our Unit to help raise awareness on Breast Cancer.

We gave them a tour of our unit, showing them what we do and sharing information on breast care and breast screening.

It was a great event with the players showing keen interest in our services and happy to help raise awareness on breast cancer to the public.

This month brings to mind the importance of checking your breasts regularly. A quick tip is to use the Acornym, TLC;
T-Touch
L-Look
C-Check for any changes and promptly contact your GP if you notice any changes.

We also want to celebrate all breast cancer survivors 💪🏽and appreciate our patients who visit the Unit, we are here because of you.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time for reflection and appreciation of the services we offer for Breast Care. 🩷

Recently, we were live at the 2025 Sutton Bonington Country Show which is a major Charity donor to the Nottingham Breast Institute.

It was a great day with loads of attractions and fun for all Families. There were attractions like The Horticultural Show, the BMX Show, Titan the Robot and the Van Buran Show. 🎆

We also had a stall to share more information on Breast Care, Breast Cancer Awareness and Breast Cancer Screening. What a lovely day it was, having to speak with people and signpost them to the Breast Institute where necessary.

Looking forward to more exciting activities as we usher in October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

🚶🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️ It was a Great Fun day with so many volunteers coming around to have the walk with each other. It was also a lovely way to remember that TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

💪🏽With your support we raised £220 for in support of their world-class research in Breast Cancer and Breast Care.

💝We are still deeply committed to the fight against Breast Cancer through raising awareness and Health Promotion.

💝Tomorrow the 21st of June 2025, our Director of Breast Screening alongside thousands of other passionate volunteers would be
taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk to help fund life-changing research and support for Breast Cancer .

It promises to be very exciting with activities along the way.
