Ruth encountered yoga many times in her life before it started to take root about 23 years ago. teaching diploma and she found that a healing process slowly began, both physically and mentally within herself because of the holistic philosophies of the Indian spiritual practice of Hatha Yoga, and after qualifying in March 2010 Ruth has been sharing what she has learnt, and continues to learn, by teaching yoga asana as her sole career. Ruth teaches Yoga asana (postures) with a strong link to the rhythm of the breath. Ruth's lessons take place privately, in further education colleges, at local leisure centres, rehabilitation facilities, retreats and also to businesses.

A friend said to me, "There must be a shadow for you some of the time." She was wrong, there is a shadow all of the time, however through yoga practices (which have similarities to modern psychological techniques found in the link below), I am aware of the looming shadow, and seeing it helps me avoid "shoulding myself" all over the place. "Shoulding yourself" is very disturbing and distressing. Noticing you have a shadow enables you to shift it behind you in certain circumstances and that can be stabilising. You need to know how the shade is cast in order to stay cool and see clearly.

Three months ago, my husband died suddenly in tragic circumstances; it's been a lot to process in so many ways, but now I finally feel able to return to teaching. I've been supported by some amazing teachers and given such love and understanding by students, which I am immensely grateful for. 🙏
I'm handing over Thursday night at Elfordleigh to a fabulous teacher and I will soon hand over Wednesday night at The Life Centre when the fantastic teacher waiting in the wings becomes free to teach it. I will still teach at least 6 classes Monday to Friday.
I'm full of both nervous and excited anticipation for next week; it all feels very fresh returning to teaching yoga after such a huge, enforced, dramatic transformation, however I'm very much looking forward to making a living by doing what I love again and the prospect of going back to work makes me feel as if I'm emerging from a murky tunnel and heading to a clear path forward. 🦋

The wisdoms here in this YouTube video are similar to things I've learnt from yoga. Also, I'm taking every bit of therapy offered to me right now, and seeking it out too. All the love and support that I'm recieving means I feel ready to return to teaching yoga from 18th August (the week after Paul's birthday). I'm so grateful to the places I work for, and the amazing colleagues and students who have all shown me so much love by supporting me and offering patience and understanding. 🌈❤️☯️🙏☯️❤️🌈

It doesn't make it too clear that all donations paid for the funeral fund will go to The Mustard Tree, a charity which provides wholistic care to cancer patients and their families. It's operated by Macmillan but funded by Plymouth Hospitals Trust charity. Ruth Mielek Alex Mielek Chloe Alice and Kieran Mielek would be very grateful if you can donate in place of flowers for the funeral if you feel able. 🙏Much gratitude and love in advance for your kindness.🙏

*Infinite Capacity*
Now is a lie;
There's no time like the present
You must have been where you were once.
If you weren't back there then,
You can't be here now-
Questioning which way to go!
♾️
There is space in between life's back and forths,
There's a place in the turn arounds,
There's a point in the day when the eyes have to look and see the vortex of chance.
Everyone's there colliding forever,
Everyone's here
For Now.
We're expanding through space,
Contracting in time,
Climbing up snakes and down ladders.

***Win or Loose***
Between town and Moor,
Between land and sea,
Between river and road,
The heart can hear.
Between this and that,
Between here and there,
Between you and me,
The soul can see.
On the liminal lines,
At the crossroads of time,
Moments disperse, converge and align..
Drums are heard,
And dances danced...
War is a theatre,
Love is a game-
Fear is a weapon,
Peace is a dream...
Between town and Moor,
Between land and sea,
Between river and road,
The soul can hear.
Between this and that,
Between here and there,
Between you and me,
The heart can see.
On the liminal lines,
At the crossroads of time,
Moments align, converge and disperse. ..

*What's the Point?*
Every mind is sharp,
Weilding many points-
Airless dungeons,
Filled with weapons
Crammed with misconceptions.

Fly high
Dive beneath
Gain perspective
Like the sky.

If Simon of Cyrene hadn't been compelled by Roman soldiers to carry Jesus's cross there would be no Christianity; Jesus would have died of exhaustion before he reached the summit of Golgotha and he may have been buried in the sands of time.
Our lives may not always go as planned but we can never know how troublesome situations will pan out or how pleasurable experiences will affect us in the long run. We are in a constant state of transformation but we cannot change what we have already done. The past is fixed, though there are many different views of it.
Instead of getting buried in the past, we can allow it to support us towards our future endeavors. We can grow out of what we have learnt like roses grow from manure rather than sinking into the sloppy quagmire of replayed and revived blunders.
Yoga offers us ways to eliminate (or sacrifice) the unskilled actions of our yesterdays and then we can let our creative potential flourish out of our offerings.
