It's National Siblings Day 💞
Having a baby brother or sister in a neonatal unit can be overwhelming and confusing for children. Helping them understand what to expect can make a huge difference. Our unit virtual tours are a helpful way for children to explore and familiarise themselves with where their sibling is being cared for. It’s a great starting point to ease them into this new environment.
Each neonatal unit and transport service has a virtual tour. You can find them on our website: https://www.swneonatalnetwork.co.uk/units

Today is HIE awareness day 🌻

HIE stands for Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy and is a lack of oxygen to the brain that can cause injury. HIE affects around 4 in every 1000 births, and can happen in older children too.

Peeps - HIE is a charity working to raise awareness so that more people know about HIE, and the support that’s available.
