Today we honor those who’ve shaped our profession and laid the foundations for where we are now.

Pioneers are not just people who have done groundbreaking research to influence the field of nutrition, but they can also be the people who’ve guided your career, challenged the status quo, or opened doors for others!

Is there a lecturer who inspired you, a manager who believed in you, or a colleague who’s leading new ideas in their field?

Let us acknowledge the dietitians who’ve made a difference to not just our profession as a whole but also to our own professional development! 😼

It’s time to celebrate our brilliant colleagues 🥳

📱TAG or SEND this post to a fellow dietitian to acknowledge how wonderful they are!

It could be a colleague making a change in your workplace, a supportive friend from uni, or any dietitian being an everyday hero in their role!

We’d love to give a special shoutout to our committee Chair, Natasha Guildford!!!
She has been shortlisted for the Sustainability Award at the Oxford University Hospitals Staff Recognition Awards for her amazing work making the trust more sustainable around nutrition.
She’s also on the BDA Sustainable Diets Group committee. We are proud of her for leading the way ✊🌱
Well done Tash!! 👏

What digital transformation has made the biggest difference to your practice? Electronic notes? Digital food diaries? Apps for patients? Artificial intelligence? 💻

As one of our South East committee members put it, “I remember spending significant amounts of time trying to find medical notes & having to duplicate in three places - medical notes, dietetic record cards & nursing kardex!”

Now with electronic systems, we can access information instantly, automate tasks, and spend more time on what matters most - the care of our service users! 💙

Share your digital wins below - we’d love to hear how technology is helping you work smarter, not harder!

Our Story

The BDA South East Branch covers the area from Oxford to Dover. It is here to provide Dietitians in this area with an opportunity for networking, information sharing, and opportunities for CPD.

We invite all Dietitians who work in the South East of the UK to get involved within the branch and take part in regular meetings. We hold 2-3 meetings a year, inviting speakers who are experts in the their fields to provide guidance, advice and information that is relevant, enabling continuous professional development.
