We are looking to welcome new volunteers to help run our Best Start groups 📢

Are you passionate about supporting parents with breastfeeding? Join our team of volunteers at Best Start and make a difference in the lives of families in North Tyneside.

This will also be great experience if you are thinking of a career in health, well-being or supporting others.

Our weekly sessions run term time in North Shields, Wallsend, Longbenton, and Whitley Bay.

I started Other Mothers Bumps, Buggies & Slings group 3 years ago when I was still parenting a young toddler because I wanted a group that for was you (and me back then). Where the focus was you, your needs, what you need to talk about, your mental health, your connection. Of course you needed to be able to bring your baby or toddler and respond to their needs but you were the focus.

Big News! Our brand new North Shields Best Start group will start next week on Monday 7th October 10:00am to 12:00pm! You can find us on the first floor of North Shields Library. Come and join us!

All Best Start sessions are drop in, free of charge and refreshments are provided.
💜Mondays 10:00am to 12:00pm at North Shields Library
💜Tuesdays 10:00am to 12:00pm at Wallsend Library
💜Wednesdays 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Whitley Bay Big Local
💜Fridays 12:30pm to 2:30pm at West Moor Community Centre
While the main focus of the drop-ins will be on breastfeeding, our trained volunteers also offer support on safe sleep, coping with crying, mental health, infant feeding, signposting and understanding your baby's needs.
