Today, I am addressing you to share some news that has recently impacted my family, especially my sister.
We received a challenging diagnosis last Friday, 09/02 - breast cancer. The news hit us unexpectedly, and we are still dealing with the emotions that come with such a revelation. As a family, we are providing all the support we can, both personally and emotionally.
The road ahead involves medical expenses that exceed our initial expectations, so we are trying to raise £2,500 + taxes until 01/06/2024.
Although we are grateful for the coverage provided by health insurance, we still face additional costs for tests and the surgery to remove the lump, including anesthesia, medical fees, and other hospital expenses. Additionally, we are preparing for the first session of chemotherapy next week. While we have already raised funds for the special caps aimed at minimizing hair loss during the sessions, the need for financial support persists for other aspects of the treatment.
It is a surreal situation for our family; it's one blow after another, and my sister is too young to be going through this. Emotions are overwhelming, ranging from anger, sadness, to shock, and it's hard to believe that I have to write this plea for help. However, I also feel gratitude for the support system that I believe we have around us. As a sister, I am committed to being by her side as much as I can, providing emotional strength, and exploring ways to alleviate the financial burden.
So, I come through this, believing in the power of solidarity and asking, if you can contribute, even with a small amount, it will be deeply appreciated.
