Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Oban We welcome ALL enquiries to access Oxygen therapy whatever the ailment. Which conditions does hyperbaric oxygen help? How does it work?

FORMERLY THE MS THERAPY CENTRE RENAMED
Registered charity, Oxygen Oban exists to help you feel better with hyperbaric oxygen therapy to aid recovery from illness or injury. Oxygen Therapy can be used alongside more traditional therapy in the treatment of a variety of conditions including in the recovery from sporting injuries, wound healing, pre and post-radiotherapy and cancer, stroke recovery,

chronic and autoimmune complaints: arthritis, leg ulcers, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis. Whatever the complaint hyperbaric oxygen may be able to bring on improvement and help you feel better. It is increasing the concentration of the same oxygen we breathe normally in air. A barochamber is needed to allow the pressure around the body to be increased. The treatment involves breathing pure oxygen in a chamber at 1.5 to 2 times normal atmospheric pressure for one hour at a time. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has a hundred-year history, but doctors have only recently recognised that even where the level of oxygen in the blood is normal there can be severe deficiency in the tissues. Now the science is understood, this use of oxygen is expanding rapidly around the world. Contact us to find out more including:

Don't forget our AGM will be held next week (Tuesday 24th June at 19.00) at the Oxygen Oban Centre, Mossfield, Oban.

During the meeting we will talk about our achievements, challenges and future plans. We would love to hear your views and to provide you with more information about the work we do and how Oxygen Therapy makes a positive impact in our community.
Everyone is welcome and we would be particularly pleased to welcome anyone who might like to join us, as either a volunteer operator or on the board of Directors. We rely on our volunteers to keep the centre up and running so if you know of anyone who has a little bit of time to spare who might be interested in joining a very friendly group of volunteers, please do get in touch.

If you are unable to attend the AGM but would be interested in any of our volunteer roles, please do get in touch by email at info@oxygenoban.org.uk or phone 01631 566602- we would be delighted to talk to you.

A heartfelt "Thank You" to all of our wonderful volunteers at Oxygen Oban. Our Centre's volunteer operators are essential to the successful delivery of oxygen therapy, helping people with various conditions improve their health and well-being.

We currently have 32 volunteer operators, who help ensure our users (44 at the minute) receive the necessary oxygen therapy, which can significantly improve their quality of life. Without our volunteers we would be unable to provide this much needed service.

If you would like to join our team, please get in touch by email: manager@oxygenoban.org.uk

Everyone is welcome and we would be particularly pleased to welcome anyone who might like to join us, as either a volunteer operator or on the board of Directors. The Board meets approximately once every six weeks so the time commitment is not too onerous. Your help would make a big difference to us - if you have lived experience or professional expertise in running a business, we would love to talk to you. Following the sad loss of our Chair recently we would be keen to talk to anyone who might consider taking on this role, as strategic lead, to see us through the next couple of years.

If you are unable to attend the AGM but would be interested in any of our volunteer roles, please do get in touch by email at info@oxygenoban.org.uk or phone 01631 566602- we would be delighted to talk to you.

We are still looking for volunteers to come and operate the hyperbaric chamber. It looks a lot more complicated than it is! Please get in touch if you would like to find out more. At the moment all sessions are held during the daytime and only Monday to Friday - if you have a spare couple of hours and would like to make a difference to the lives of local people in need of oxygen therapy, we would love to hear from you. Send us a message or email Nik at manager@oxygenoban.org.uk

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity with a difference?
The oxygen in the air we breathe is constantly treating the day-to-day damage we sustain - repairing and renewing our cells. When tissues are damaged the capillaries they contain are also damaged. This reduces the flow of blood that transports oxygen, which may limit or even prevent recovery. Our aims are to maintain flexibility, mobility, and provide pain relief promoting well-being and a positive attitude for those with numerous health conditions, by providing users with high dosage oxygen therapy.
We are looking for people who would be happy to train up as an Oxygen Chamber Operator to operate and monitor the chamber. No experience necessary as full training will be given. If you would be happy to take on a weekly shift which will take up about 3 hours of your time (it does not have to be every week), please get in touch.
If you are interested, or would like to find out more, please contact the centre: manager@oxygenoban.org.uk.
