One of the loveliest things about making candles is the testing process which happens with every new batch, and when trying out new fragrances. Tonight’s is Beachcomber one of my new ones. A mix of the seaside, juniper and cedarwood.

Busy weekend for us. All set up at Dacre Hall for their annual summer craft fair, and hotfooting it down to The Lanes in the morning for Quirky at The Lanes. Exciting times!

Had a day off from candling and gardening so went to Northumberland. Chillingham Castle was great - sadly no 👻 appeared for us today, then on to Bamburgh which never fails to impress. Feel revived and ready for the weekend.

Project flowers! Our old flowers used to decorate our candle stall are a bit tatty, so we’re going to try drying some, using silica gel. I think the flowers have to be covered completely but I’ll give it a go. Now just need to wait a week and see how they’re doing. I’m sure the bees won’t mind me cutting a few🐝Plenty left 🌺

We’ve been reimagining our stall ready for the upcoming candle season. Going to hand dry some of the flowers in our garden to add some colour as well. Full on craft at home at the moment with lots of making and experimenting! 😊

****SCAM ALERT****
I’ve recently been nearly scammed by the same group regarding booking a table at a craft fair in Cumbria. On enquiry by email their reply was word for word the same, as a previous event advertised on FB that was a proven scam.
Things to look out for:
They always want money in advance
There is always an urgency to pay e.g. there is only one table left or there is someone with a similar craft to yours who hasn’t paid yet and it’s first come first served.
They follow up with an email if you don’t book
Their FB profile is very basic- limited details, posts, photos etc
They only joined the relevant FB group recently

Most people on FB are very genuine but there are a minority who are scamming.

If there is any doubt please check with the venue. That’s what I did on both occasions and that’s how I found out.

We’re launching 11 new aromatherapy candles at Helena Thompson Museum in Workington on Sunday! We’re very excited to see what customers think.

This Sunday 10am until 4pm.
