Meg's Mindful Movement Bringing Mindfulness to all, regardless of age or ability through movement & meditation. Promoting I have studied Iyengar Yoga for 10 years.

I first became interested in Mindfulness when I read an article about stress by Professor Mark Williams of Oxford University in 2011. Searching for more information I read Jon Kabat Zinn who describes Mindfulness as 'paying attention in a particular way, on purpose in the present moment in a non-judgmental way'. In 2014 I attended an 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR) run by t

he Highland Council for employees in high level stress positions. I found by practicing my stress levels dropped and I wanted to spread the word about the effects of Mindfulness. After completion of the 8 week course I was made aware that there would be Teacher Training opportunities in the future. In June 2016 I completed my Teacher Training Development Course. As well as running the 8 week courses, monthly Mindfulness meetings and retreats, I deliver 2 classes of Mindful Movement and Meditation per week and this will increase with training. As well as attending weekly classes, I attend local workshops with local, national and international teachers. I completed my Foundations of Yoga in 2019 and I am currently undertaking my hatha yoga Teacher Training (500 hours) over the next 2 years. I am currently researching further training in Mindfulness to incorporate teaching Young People (who I work with) and working in Schools. I have delivered mindfulness sessions to my local primary schools and am currently delivering relaxation classes in my local area to all ages including teens.
