Itās morbid to think about dying.
But itās the direction weāre all heading.
Our ticket is getting punched at some point,
And there isnāt a damn thing we can do about it.
The tricky part? We often donāt realize weāre in those final years... until we are.
Something I hear all the time from men and women in their 40s and beyond is that theyāre in pain.
Welcome to middle and old age.
Itās pretty normal, especially if youāre carrying extra pounds and have had a fair few trips around the sun.
The worst course of action? Doing nothing.
You wonāt believe some of the advice Iāve heard doctors give to athletes Iāve worked with, myself includedāāDo nothing, donāt do that, take it easy.ā
The goal should always be to manage the pain youāre in while building back your resilience.
Strong is strong, my good friend always says.
Thereās overwhelming amountās of literature on the benefits of resistance training:
Decreased cancer risk
Decreased cardiovascular disease
Improved metabolic health
Better bone health
Decreased risk of falls
And most importantly, increased quality of life.
Thereās a choice to be made, my friend:
Strong and in pain, or weak and in pain.
