With the family’s kind consent, we would like to share details of a recent service conducted by Orlando for a gentleman whose greatest loves were fishing and supporting Aston Villa. To honour his passion for fishing, a stunning fishing-themed coffin was chosen, complete with his own personal fishing rod carefully mounted on the top. A deeply meaningful and touching tribute.

In recognition of his love for Aston Villa, his floral tributes were personalised with light blue and burgundy ribbon, adding another thoughtful and bespoke element to the service. It was a true honour to help create a farewell that was as unique as the life it celebrated, and a reminder of how powerful personal touches can be when saying goodbye.

Susan Stent of Middlezoy, peacefully passed away on Thursday 11th December 2025 at Musgrove Park Hospital, aged 64. She will be sadly missed all of her family and friends.

Mervyn Tiso of Williton, passed away peacefully on Thursday 11th December 2025 aged 78 at Musgrove Park Hospital. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

John Gilbert Cooke of Southampton, formally of Isle Of Wight, peacefully passed away on Friday 5th December 2025 aged 91 at West Cliff Hall Care Home in Southampton. Soon to be reunited with his late wife Beryl Cooke, following her recent passing in August this year. He will be sadly missed all of his family and friends.

A funeral service will take place in memory of John on Friday 16th January 2026 at 10am at Wessex Vale Crematorium, Southampton. Donations in his memory are being sent to Alzheimer’s Society and can be donated on the day or via the Funeral Directors. The family have requested for family flowers only.

Recently we conducted a funeral led by Orlando, for a truly special gentleman. As his family are from Torquay, it was important to ensure they were cared for and close to home, so the service was held at Torbay Crematorium. Being surrounded by familiar places brought comfort at a very difficult time for the family.

He was a man with a remarkable gift of photography, capturing moments, memories and emotions through his lens. Using his own photographs, we were able to create a beautiful photo tribute that told the story of his life and the love he shared with his family.

A touching farewell for a talented man who will be remembered through the images he so thoughtfully left behind.

Christmas Memorial Trees Tags – Messages of Love and Remembrance

Each of our funeral homes has its own Christmas Memorial Tree a place to gently fill with messages of love, remembrance, and reflection. These tags are dedicated to the loved ones who are not with us this Christmas, whether it is the first year without them or one of many. Our hope is that each tree becomes filled with meaning, warmth, and cherished memories from our community.

For anyone who was unable to attend our Christmas Memorial Service, or for those who would like to place a memory tag on one of our trees, we warmly welcome you to do so.

You are invited to visit any of our funeral homes, where Mark, Orlando, or Nick will be on hand to support you in writing a memorial tag for your loved one. If you prefer, you can also phone us with your wording, and we will lovingly write and place the tag on your behalf.
