Patricia Ann Woodgate ‘Pat’, peacefully passed away on Thursday 16th April 2026 aged 90 years at Southmead Hospital. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Last Friday, we had the honour of conducting the service for Ivor Jones, a much-loved and deeply respected gentleman from Porlock and across West Somerset. One of our Funeral Directors, Nick conducted a beautiful service, and it was truly moving to see so many people travel from far and wide to pay their respects.

Our thoughts are with Ivor’s family, friends, and everyone that knew him. 🤍

On Monday we had the honour of conducting a truly special farewell for the much loved Robert Smyth (Benji) of Bridgwater. He was carried on his final journey in the most elegant way, with a stunning team of four black horses. A gentle touch of purple was woven throughout, a heartfelt tribute in his memory, adding warmth and meaning to every detail.

On his final journey, we made a special stop at The New Foresters a place that meant so much to Benji. It was only right that he passed by somewhere filled with memories, laughter, and moments he cherished. As the cortège arrived, it was met with a moving round of applause from those gathered. That simple, powerful gesture spoke volumes about the love and respect people had for him.

He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved. 💜

William James Conley ‘Bill’ of Taunton, formally of Plymouth and Edinburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday 11th April 2026 at Musgrove Park Hospital aged 72 years. He will be deeply missed by all his loving family and friends.

Norman Williams of Minehead, passed away peacefully on Thursday 16th April 2026 surrounded by his loved ones aged 91 years. Norman was a keen equestrian and known well in this community. He was a fantastic grandfather and great grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him. He is now reunited with his lovely wife, tending to their roses together once more.

Desmond William ‘Bill’ White of Williton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday 24th March 2026 aged 97 years at his home in Williton. A devoted Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad and Son to his late Mother Agnes. Desmond spent over 25 years working as a salesman for Heinz. Later working in the double glazing industry. Desmond had a deep love for music and film, was a devoted supporter of Arsenal Football Club, and held a lifelong passion for steam trains. He dedicated over a decade as a volunteer with the West Somerset Railway, spending many happy hours on the platforms at Williton Station and Watchet Station, where he was a familiar and friendly face to all who visited.

Robert Smyth ‘Benji’ of Bridgwater, passed away peacefully on Monday 23rd March 2026 at Musgrove Park Hospital, aged 65, surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A funeral service will take place in memory of Robert on Monday 27th April 2026 at 12 noon at St Francis of Assisi Church, Bridgwater, followed by burial at Quantock Road Cemetery. Robert’s final journey will be by horse and carriage through Bridgwater. The cortege will pause at The Foresters, St John Street, a place of special significance to him. The cortège will pass The Foresters around 1pm where people can gather to pay their respects to Robert. The family welcome flowers, which can be sent to the Funeral Directors or brought to the service.

Doreen Alice Cousins of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Monday 13th April 2026 at Musgrove Park Hospital, aged 73 years, surrounded by her loving family. A beloved Wife, Mum, Nan, Sister, Auntie, Great Auntie and Great Great Auntie. Doreen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A funeral service will take place in memory of Doreen on Wednesday 6th May 2026 at 12 noon at Taunton Deane Crematorium. Recently, we had the honour of conducting a truly special farewell for the much loved John Rennie of Cothelstone, Bishops Lydeard.

John was known for his passion of aviation with years as an aircraft engineer. To also reflect his deep love of horses, he was taken on his final journey by a beautiful team of 4 black horses, pulling a beautiful black carriage.

It was a heartfelt, personal send-off filled with love, respect and unforgettable moments, a fitting farewell to someone who will always be remembered.
