Who is eligible for Mounjaro?
According to NHS guidelines, the first group of patients able to get the medication from their GP will be:
People with a BMI of 40 or over (or 37.5 if from a minority ethnic background) and who have four of five of the following medical conditions:
Type 2 Diabetes
High blood pressure
Heart and vascular disease
High cholesterol
Obstructive sleep apnoea

We are still awaiting final guidance from our ICB. Please do not call or request a triage. We will let everyone know when we are able to follow the guidelines above.

💉Weight Loss Medication Update – Mounjaro (Tirzepatide)

Today there has been a lot of news coverage and interest in the weight loss medication, Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) GP practices in Gloucestershire are currently unable to prescribe it for weight loss. We are waiting for guidance from our Integrated Care Board (ICB) and NHS England.

Please do not contact us to discuss starting Mounjaro for weight loss.
