This International Women's Day, we’re celebrating not only the women who shaped history, but also the women shaping our community today.
At People to Places, we know that safety is one of the biggest factors affecting women’s ability to travel independently. For many women — especially those who are older or living with mobility challenges — public transport, long walks, or unfamiliar routes can feel uncertain or unsafe. That’s where accessible, supportive transport makes a real difference.
Today we celebrate the wonderful women who use our service and the amazing female members of staff, volunteers and supporters who help make safe, comfortable journeys possible every day

For many older people, technology can feel overwhelming or impersonal. While the world rushes ahead with instant messages and video calls, a lot of elders are left behind—not because they don’t want connection, but because the tools don’t always feel accessible or comfortable.
A handwritten letter shows time, care, and intention. It can be held, reread, and treasured.
So today, take five minutes to write to someone who will really appreciate it. Your words might be the brightest moment in their week.

Our Story

People to Places provide a range of transport services for people of any age who require assistance with transport, due to limited mobility caused by disability or infirmity.

People to Places started in 1989 with 2 minibuses, and has since grown to a fleet of 16 minibuses. All the minibuses are specially adapted to cater for most types of physical disability and are accessible to people in wheelchairs.

The experienced staff and volunteers at People to Places are DBS checked and MiDAS trained, ready and able to assist you to and from your front door.

People to Places operate a Dial-a-Ride service for residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Dial-a-ride is a membership based service open to residents of the Royal Borough who are unable to use conventional public transport.
