Today I gave a talk about forest bathing to the wonderful Stanborough Seniors Group in Watford.
It was really fun and we got to experience sit spot and a forest invitation indoors using sticks, moss, fir cones and stones I gathered from Whippendell woods yesterday!
Some of the people came and talked to me afterwards to share their own experiences and one in particular really touched me. A story of a daughter who, before she died, spent time in the woods simply sitting and enjoying the space, the birdsong, the comfort of trees. Her mum told me that at the time neither of them knew there was a name for what they did but now it all made sense, why her daughter found such peace in the woods. It was a very special moment.
Forest bathing is a powerful practice and I'm so grateful to be able to share it with others
