Our receptionists are often the first voice on the phone and the first welcoming face patients see when they visit. They work tirelessly behind the scenes—booking appointments, helping patients access the right care, answering queries, supporting our clinical team, and keeping the practice running smoothly every single day.

💙⭐ International Nurses Day ⭐💙

Today we proudly celebrate our incredible nursing and healthcare support team, recognising the dedication, compassion, skill, and professionalism they bring to patient care every single day. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing team caring for our patients and community.

⭐ Sarah – Nurse Partner / Community Matron
An Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Queen’s Nurse, Sarah provides exceptional clinical leadership and has dedicated 21 years as a Matron serving the people of Oldham. With 26 years Nursing experience Sarah is a Nurse Partner along with three Gp Partners at Saddleworth Medical Practice.

⭐ Emma – Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Emma has spent many years serving the Oldham community, leading nursing teams with skill and compassion. Now an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Queen’s Nurse, she continues to make an enormous impact.

⭐ Jane – Community Matron
With many years of nursing experience, including extensive District Nursing experience, Jane has proudly cared for the residents of Oldham as a Matron for 21 years.

⭐ Joanne – Nurse Manager / Practice Nurse
With a background in District Nursing, Jo has cared for the Saddleworth community for many years and provides outstanding leadership to our nursing team.

⭐ Lindsay – Practice Nurse
A highly experienced Practice Nurse with excellent triage skills, Lindsay also comes from a District Nursing background and has worked in the Saddleworth area for many years.

⭐ Lucy – Practice Nurse
An experienced Practice Nurse, many of you will have seen Lucy in travel clinics, baby clinics, and general Practice Nurse clincs. She is an asset to the team.

⭐ Nicole – Practice Nurse
Although a newer addition to the Practice Nursing team, it already feels like Nicole has been part of our work family forever. She specialises in spirometry, respiratory care, and all aspects of Practice Nursing.

⭐ Lynn – Practice Nurse
Lynn works with us one day a week from Delph, supporting cervical screening clinics. Some of you may have seen her in our recent cervical smear awareness video.

⭐ Michelle – Nurse Associate
Michelle is a hugely valued member of our nursing team and an important part of the care we provide.

⭐ Wendy – Healthcare Assistant
Wendy is approaching an incredible 40 years of service with Saddleworth Medical Practice — a truly fantastic achievement.

⭐ Suzanne – Healthcare Assistant
Suzanne supports Dr Hartley’s minor surgery clinics and many of you will have seen her for your health checks.

⭐ Sharon – Healthcare Assistant
A valued member of our healthcare support team, helping us provide excellent care to our patients every day. A retired Nurse who has returned to work as a health care assistant.

Our recent CQC report recognised the excellent leadership and achievements of our nursing team — something we are incredibly proud of.

Today is World Hand Hygiene Day 🧼

At Saddleworth Medical Practice, we’re proud to share that we recently received an excellent infection control audit and report. Our clinicians and staff work hard every day to keep you safe.

Hand hygiene plays a vital role in preventing the spread of infections and viruses. Washing your hands properly is one of the simplest and most effective things you can do to protect yourself and others.

At our GP practice, we’re proud to support World Immunisation Week by encouraging everyone to check they’re up to date with their vaccinations.

Our Community Matrons, Jane and Sarah, have been busy supporting some of our most vulnerable patients by administering vaccinations to our Care home residents.

We’re pleased to share that residents at Stoneswood Residential Home have been offerred and the first to receive the Spring 2026 COVID-19 booster 💉
