A topic I almost always talk about in class is awareness. So simple, yet always insightful, always new.
Last week I was exploring my emotional awareness, as I noticed feelings arise for no real reason. I felt flat, low, and unmotivated.
By sitting with awareness more and more often, taking the time to stop, sit and listen, my mind noticed as these low emotions came about. I saw myself begin to deflate.
Rather than resist this, by getting agitated, or by forcing myself out of this mood, I instead stayed in awareness. I watched my emotions, and watched my reactions to said emotions.
What I found was I didn't fall as low as I usually would, I found a level of contentment in how I was. Which in turn made me feel a little better.
I sat with my emotions, acknowledged and accepted them, rather than letting my emotions sit on me.
This practise is far more than just the physical, it is so much more.
Join me this week to explore, learn and play.
