My new monograph herb- Galium aparine, also known as goose grass and cleavers, which is now sprouting up all over! Do you remember sticking this to your friends when you were young? (It’s common name round here- sticky Jack!).
I bet you didn’t know this plant is one of the best natural lymphatic system cleansers there is, and can help heal a huge array of health conditions, from swollen lymph nodes, skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis and pneumonia, rheumatism and gout! It is so green and fresh smelling- you can just tell it will cleanse the system! If you’re wanting an internal ‘spring clean’ which will also help with weight loss, simply pick some cleavers, wash and crush them a little, then soak in water overnight in the fridge and drink every day with fresh lemon🍋 ❤️🌿

Meet meadowsweet, Queen of the Meadow’, a native herb of the British Isles that grows in great swathes in Northumberland! This plant single- handedly started the pharmaceutical industry as its active constituent, salicylic acid was the basis of aspirin, the first ever pharmaceutical drug-the name itself comes from meadowsweet’s old Latin name ‘Spireaea’ ulmaria. She loves to get her feet wet so you can find her near rivers, ditches, meadows and woods.
Used for centuries to treat digestive problems such as GERD, heartburn, dyspepsia and stomach ulcers, it is also effective for treating arthritis. It is anti inflammatory (reduces inflammation) analgesic (reduces pain) anti pyretic (reduces fever) and much more. If you smell the stem of meadowsweet you will smell a savlon smell! A beautiful herb with gorgeous honey smelling flowers- you can pick them on a summer’s day and make a simple tea, to ease your tummy upsets, relieve headache and other aches and pains too 🌿❤️

My own health journey is moving towards using more herbs in my diet as they have so many benefits. Today my daughter and I made rosemary and garlic focaccia (well it looks a bit like focaccia anyway!).
Rosemary has anti inflammatory and anti oxidant compounds that boost blood circulation and the immune system. It is also very good for the memory and alertness 🌿.
Garlic reduces the risk of heart attacks, lowers cholesterol and is anti viral so great for colds and flu. 🧄
It tastes absolutely delicious 😋

I have dried lavender in and around the house as I love the smell and look of it so much!
True Lavender- Latin name, Lavendula Angustifolia/Officinalis is reknowned for its ability to ease stress, headaches and to aid a good night’s sleep. It’s active constituents produce a relaxing affect when used in small quantities!
Did you know lavender oil is also excellent for the skin, and particularly burns? Rene Gattefosse, an early and influential French aromatherapist burned himself in his lab, and plunged his hand into the nearest thing to him which was a vat of lavender oil and his hand healed without blistering. It is a gentle oil and is suitable for all ages from babies to the elderly. The essential oil is also used for respiratory issues, depression, nervous tension, acne and other skins problems, cystitis and insect bites (that’s just a few of the things that it can help!!)

🌿I just love essential oils! They have all the healing properties of the plant that they came from and smell absolutely devine too! 🌼They don’t have all of the negative side effects that man made drugs have so are excellent for helping to maintain and support good physical and emotional health ☯️

Look out for future posts on different essential oils and how they can be of benefit to you and your family- even your pets! 🐱🐶

🌟Did you know that if you have epilepsy you shouldn’t use rosemary essential oil or if you have heart problems you shouldn’t use peppermint? The list goes on and essential oil safety is of utmost importance!

🌸That’s why I make blends uniquely just for you, to ensure full safety and that the blend will address your own particular needs! 🙂

🍃If you have any questions or you’d like to order a treatment blend, simply send a message and we can get started!
