Hello and thank you so much for visiting my page, and showing interest in “Yoga & Hiking with Lucy-Ann”. My name is Lucy-Ann Prideaux, and I live in beautiful Cornwall... in the market town of Wadebridge. Wadebridge sits on the banks of the Camel Estuary, about 8 miles in land from Padstow, and it’s here that I’ve made my home. Surrounded by some of the most beautiful and breath-taking countryside and coastline, it is, without doubt, a hiker’s and nature lover’s paradise.
SO... why YOGA and HIKING? These are two great passions of mine, and I decided I wanted to share, and enjoy them both with others! You can check out all my Services, and what I offer, on this page.
During Covid 19...
I am currently teaching via Zoom (Download the free app Zoom.us). Please message me if you would like to join my Zoom Yoga Community. The current timetable is as follows:

8.30am - Face Yoga 10.00am Flow Motion (a sequenced vinyasa flow class)
Wednesday
8.30 - Face Yoga 10.00am Flow and Flex (a sequenced vinyasa flow class with some core strength work)

When life is resumed after the Covid 19 outbreak, I will once again be teaching YOGA classes in Wadebridge, at The John Betjeman Centre. My classes take place regularly on a Tuesday morning (early!) Wednesday evening, and a Friday morning. You can book a place here on my FB Page, or call, text or email me. If you are visiting, come by and join a class. All classes are £7, with options to buy a block of classes at a reduced cost. Cash or card payments are accepted.
Tuesday 7.30-8.30am - “Top to Toe” Yoga Class - Face Yoga & Slow Flow - I start with face yoga (a blend of face massage & face exercise techniques - all of which helps to release tension in the face and neck, & reduce congestion & eye puffiness. When practised regularly, face yoga smooths the skin, and reduces the appearance of fine lines), followed by a slow and mindful flow sequence of regular yoga postures (both standing and balance poses), and finishing with some floor work. It is the perfect way to start the day!
Wednesday 6pm-7pm - Yoga Flow - A sequenced, balanced flow class for all.
Friday 10am-11am - Yoga Flow - Yoga for strength, fitness and balance - A sequenced flow class
I teach private yoga sessions, at my apartment, or in client’s homes or holiday lets/hotels. This is by appointment only, so please message me if you are interested in a private session. Private sessions are for up to 3 people, and priced at £20 per person at my apartment, or £30 per person in client’s homes.
HIKING
Nothing makes me happier than to go hiking with my Hiking group “The Hiking Yogis”! I lead regular treks and hikes along the coastal path. Keep an eye on the page for a weekly timetable, with meeting times and locations of hikes.
Privately booked hikes are tailored according to each individual or party, but generally last between 2-3 hours. I charge £20 per person. Please message me here if you are interested in one of my guided hikes. I’ll show you the best that the area has to offer.
MY BACKGROUND...
My career in fitness, health and wellness started back in the late 80’s when I trained as a fitness instructor. I progressed to being a busy personal trainer, and aerobics instructor. I studied Sport and Exercise Science and graduated with a 1st Class degree back in 1996. I went on to study Human Nutrition and Metabolism, and gained a Masters degree in 1997. I set up my own consultancy, blending and using all my skills and qualifications, working mainly as a Registered Nutritionist, to both individuals and teams, but also encouraging people to incorporate a regular, balanced exercise program into daily life. I also worked in health journalism, and regularly wrote articles and editorials for top sports magazines, and food companies. Competitive triathlon was a long-standing passion, and I regularly competed both as a runner and triathlete. Today, 20 years on, I still swim regularly and of course, hike, with my hiking buddy, my dog Samson!
Yoga became a regular part of my life about 20 years ago, whilst in my early 30’s. I first studied Ashtanga Yoga, which complimented my sporting life, and then as the years progressed, I focused more on Hatha yoga, and more gentle flow sequences. Today, my yoga practise is all about good form, correct alignment, and moving in a way that continually builds strength, flexibility and balance.
I knew one day I would go back int0 teaching, and of course Yoga provided the perfect avenue for me to do this. I now thoroughly enjoy working with people again, teaching and inspiring individuals to adopt a healthy and regular yoga program.
Yoga has enabled me to stay fit, lithe and flexible, and now at 53 years, I don’t know think I could be without it! Yoga instils deep strength and flexibility throughout the body, with the varied twisting and revolving movements and postures. It also helps to focus and calm the mind. Yoga is known to expand, slow and regulate the breath, working to reduce stress both in the body and mind. Taught and performed correctly, with good alignment, yoga improves balance and posture. Personally, I have experienced profound benefits from practising yoga, both to the body and mind, and also the face!
I am a trained Face Yoga Practitioner & also trained in Facelift Massage. I include some face massage and face exercise techniques in my Tuesday morning class. Facial poses lift, tone, and firm the face and neck. Activating the face muscles promotes blood circulation and increased oxygen flow, which smooths the skin and improves the complexion.
I feel very privileged now to be able to teach, and share the many wonderful benefits of yoga with others. I hope to see you at one of my classes soon - you would be so very welcome!
To book a space at one of my classes, you can message me here, or text or call. If you would like some guidance on how to join classes on-line, simply pop me a message and I can help you out.
If you ever need to cancel, please try and do so 24 hours in advance, so that someone else can take your spot.
