Honestly - I was holding back tears whilst I was recording this. 🥺 I feel a little bit like a failure, like I am letting people down - and a little bit like I am giving up on something that I am incredibly passionate about. 😔But deep down I know that this step back is necessary for me if I want to continue to grow. 🚀The thing is, despite my personal struggles, I have managed to keep things going and it has all been going pretty well - considering the circumstances. Yes there has been a few cracks in terms of profitability and long hours but it hasn’t been a complete disaster. 👏🏻It feels a bit crazy to take a step back when it felt like I was only just getting started, but strangely - my intuition tells me this is the best way forward. 💫I know that by simplifying and streamlining, I’ll be able to create more balance in my own life and, ultimately, provide an even better service to my clients. ⭐️This is not the end of The Wellness Mentor - this is just the beginning. 🙏🏼💫Stay Tuned 👀

One of the biggest misconceptions in women’s fitness is that lifting weights will make you “bulky.” 🚫 But here’s the truth…

Women don’t naturally produce enough testosterone to build large muscles like men. It takes YEARS to sculpt a lean and toned physique. Any woman who lifts will tell you how hard they worked to build muscle and lose excess body fat.🥵

🔥 Hard truth: As you hit your 30s, you begin to lose muscle mass. If you’re not strength training, you’re losing muscle—and that means a slower metabolism, weaker joints, bones, and less energy.

The good news? Lifting weights will give you a better quality of life as you age!! 🤩

Not to get “bulky,” but to stay strong, toned, and capable.

In a nutshell strength training:
✅ Boosts metabolism (hello, easier fat loss!)�
✅ Keeps bones strong (goodbye, osteoporosis risk)
✅ Improves confidence & energy (because you deserve to feel amazing)

Hey up! 👋 It’s been a busy few months, so here’s a little update…

Honestly, the New Year, New Me hype seems to be fading year after year—and I’m not even mad about it!

It’s definitely been a quieter start to the year, not just for me but for other PTs and gyms too, by the sounds of it. My theory? People are realising that looking after their health isn’t just about “eating less and moving more.” Instead, they’re taking their time, finding what works for them, and easing back into routine—which is so much better than going all in for two weeks in January only to burn out by February.

Did you know that around 80% of people give up on their gym goals by February? A slow and steady start with long-term goals is far better than an all-or-nothing approach that leads to months of inactivity.

That said, while things have been a little quieter, our new members and pay-as-you-go clients have been making the most of their sessions and absolutely smashing their workouts! Here’s a little update on what’s been going on…

💪 Small Group PT – We’re halfway through our current Small Group PT intake, and these ladies are building strength fast! Not only are they seeing changes in muscle definition and overall fitness, but they’re also gaining confidence, consistency, and a real love for prioritizing their health. We now have four PT sessions per week, including Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings!

🏋️‍♀️ In-Person & Online Fitness Classes – It’s been a strong start to the year for our class members! While the early morning sessions didn’t take off as expected, our online workouts, on-demand workout library, and Low Impact Circuits continue to be a huge hit!

🏃‍♀️ C25K Run Group – Running sessions are back in full swing, and we’ve got another group Park Run/Walk planned for March 15th! You’ll find us down Altofts Canal at 9 am on Saturdays, working on pace, endurance, and the all-important chats we have along the way.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible women, both in person and 1-1, helping them reclaim control over their fitness and health—on their terms. 👌🏻

Now, I’ll be honest—talking about what I do isn’t always easy, especially when it doesn’t fit neatly into “before and after” pictures.

People see "Fitness" & "Personal Trainer" and automatically assume WEIGHT LOSS!

Every now and again I find myself stuck in a bit of a rut struggling to get out of bed on a morning, spending the first few hours of my day feeling anxious and on edge and rushing about doing household chores instead of prioritising a healthy breakfast.

Does this sound familiar?

The funny thing is, if I apply these simple morning habits, I feel a new woman.

These things are:

👉 Waking up at the same time every day (avoiding hitting the snooze button even if I am tired)�
👉 Having a decaf tea or coffee instead of my usual super strength coffee hit�
👉 Making time for a protein-based breakfast

These habits help me align my mornings with my body’s natural rhythms and set me up for a more hormonally balanced day.
