Dental veneers are thin strips of material that cover the outer, visible part of the tooth. If you are not satisfied with your smile, this problem can be solved with the help of dental veneers – a real innovation in modern dentistry.

Dental veneers help not only with smile aesthetics, but also with chewing and sometimes speech. They also change the position and shape of a tooth if necessary.

Dental veneers have many uses and benefits, here are the situations that require dental veneers:
✅ stained or discoloured teeth (which cannot be whitened)
✅ unevenly coloured teeth
✅ unpleasant shape, extremely sharp teeth
✅ extremely small teeth
✅ lathe
✅ dental spacing
✅ chipped teeth
✅ protruding teeth
✅ rotated teeth

What are the stages of the intervention?
✅ The consultation with a specialist surgeon with competence in implantology, which consists of a clinical and paraclinical examination, i.e. a computerized tomography that allows the doctor to assess the condition of the bone and the teeth on the arch (if they exist). After the consultation, the doctor will recommend the method that lends itself to the case. Dental extractions will be necessary only in cases where patients have remaining teeth on the arch.

✅ The implant insertion intervention can take place with local or total anaesthesia, at the request of the patient. It should be noted that dental extractions and implantation take place within the same intervention.

✅ Insertion of the prosthetic work, which takes place 24 hours after implantation, during which the temporary prosthetic work is fixed.

This oral rehabilitation solution consists of the surgical placement of 4 or 6 implants. In most cases, to increase the reliability of the result, the All-on-6 variant is recommended, but if the clinical situation does not allow the insertion of 6 implants, then the All-on-4 variant is opted for. The unique design and insertion position of the implants characteristic of the All-on-4/All-on-6 system, provides high stability in the bone, without the need for addition or bone grafting.

What is the All-on-4/All-on-6 systems?

The All-on-4 treatment concept is a cost-effective and bone graft-free treatment solution that provides the patient with a complete fixed arch on the same day of surgery. The revolutionary All-on-4 system is the ideal solution for patients with severe bone atrophy who have lost teeth on one or both dental arches and who have been offered the alternative of wearing a removable denture for life.

Who can benefit from this intervention?

✅ People who have removable prostheses and who want to give them up and opt for a fixed job
✅ Those who have a reduced number of teeth per arch that cannot be saved
✅ Patients who want fast and complete dental rehabilitation in the shortest possible time
✅ Patients suffering from severe bone atrophy
✅ Patients who were offered a lifetime alternative to wearing dentures
✅ Patients suffering from advanced periodontal diseases
✅ People for whom multiple dental implants are not a solution

✅ Will I be toothless during treatment?
No, you won’t be toothless while waiting for the second step of the surgery as anyone can use a certain type of temporary denture or temporary crown. If you need implants to replace your molars, right at the back of your mouth, you might not need to have a temporary.

✅ Can I have a “metal-free” implant?
Unfortunately, there are no “metal-free” teeth when we discuss about dental implants. Almost all materials used for teeth replacements have some sort of metal ions in them. Dental implants are made of titanium alloy (similar to hip implants, shoulder implants, and knee implants), which is highly biocompatible, and an allergy to titanium is extremely rare, titanium being the best solution in this case, also helping implants to be durable. Currently, there are no proven alternatives to titanium dental implants.

✅ Is there an age limit for dental implants?
Dental implants can be placed on adults, age not being the determining factor for this step, but the general state of health.

What is a dental implant?

The dental implant is a piece of pure titanium (99.95%), generally shaped as a screw. It is intended to create an artificial root in the jawbone, where the natural tooth or teeth are missing. The reconstruction consists of two segments: one intraosseous (the implant) and the prosthetic abutment.

A crown, a bridge or a prosthesis attaches to the upper end of the abutment. The treatment is conservative compared to a traditional work through a bridge, because dental implants eliminate the need to sacrifice neighbouring teeth.

Diastema

Diastema is the interdental space that appears between the upper central incisors. Diastema is much less common in lower central incisors. This is a common dentoalveolar defect, often combined with other orthodontic pathologies: malocclusion, abnormalities in the shape and size of the teeth. Correction of diastema is possible through orthodontic, prosthetic and surgical treatments.

How do we get rid of a diastema?
Modern dentistry offers a wide range of treatment methods to get rid of diastema. The choice of treatment tactics depends on the size of the diastema, the individual characteristics of the patient, his wishes and financial capabilities.

The fastest way to solve the problem is treatment with dental veneers. Veneers are thin ceramic strips that are attached to the outer surface of the incisors, thus correcting their shape. It should be borne in mind that the veneers have a small thickness, so it is not possible to correct serious imperfections with their help. An alternative to veneers is the installation of dental crowns. These prosthetic works allow you to correct more serious deviations from the normal position of the teeth. Dental crowns are the optimal solution if the central incisors have enamel defects or carious lesions.

Taking care of your teeth on holiday

Beware of excess food that can pigment the teeth!
Coffee and red wine are two of your worst enemies, especially if you have veneers or dental implants, because they can stain your smile. With proper oral care, the risk is reduced to zero. So pay close attention to how often you brush your teeth on holiday! Dental hygiene must also be maintained during moments of relaxation.

Brushing your teeth is not optional
Teeth need the same care on holiday as they do at home: brushing twice a day, mouthwash and dental floss. In this way, you reduce the risks of choosing different dental conditions or the formation of bacterial plaque. If you're constantly on the road, choose a teeth sanitizing foam option, which you can use wherever you go, simply and quickly.

Beware of hard foods
Whether you have dental veneers, dental implants, or natural teeth, pay close attention to hard-shelled foods like nuts. The temptation to try different exotic fruits is very great, but be careful how you eat them. The shell is never broken with the teeth, because you can choose with dental trauma, such as fractures. Take great care when consuming food and always choose the safest options for your teeth.

Even if you have a very well-established oral hygiene routine, go regularly to the dentist, who will perform a thorough dental check-up and give you recommendations for maintaining the health of your teeth.
Moreover, the dentist has the opportunity to observe cavities or incipient problems that you cannot detect with the naked eye. Early treatment of dental problems and prevention are the best ways to keep your teeth healthy.
During a visit to the dentist, the doctor will tell you what steps you should include in your daily brushing and oral care routine. If you are a smoker or know that you are prone to cavities, increase the frequency of your visits to the dental office.
Most dental aesthetic treatments have the role of restoring the basic functions of the teeth.
Therefore, if one or more teeth have been lost, to maintain oral health, turn to dental implants. These will help you get your smile back and, more than that, you will get a correct mastication. Missing a tooth leads to a change in the occlusion, so food is not processed correctly. This situation can result in digestive problems. Dental crowns, fillings and even dental veneers represent the ideal treatment for chipped teeth, affected by deep cavities or for aesthetic problems.

Unfortunately, damaged enamel cannot be regenerated like other organs or structures in the body, such as bones or skin.

Larger defects are treated in the dental office by using materials that replace lost enamel, such as:
✅dental restoration with fillings made of composite material;
✅restoration of the tooth with the help of veneers or dental crowns.
Modern dental fillings are made using aesthetic, tooth-coloured composite materials. The composite material is applied in the cavity resulting from the removal of the carious process, after which it is hardened with the help of a special lamp.

The advantages of this treatment are the following:
✅excellent aesthetic effect;
✅the durability of the composite restoration;
✅the ability to correct serious defects;
✅the affordable cost of the procedure.

Treatment with dental veneers is indicated in case of damage to the enamel on the front surfaces of the teeth. Veneers are thin ceramic sheets that restore the face of the teeth, and the aesthetic result is excellent. Veneers are especially recommended when, by using composite materials, a durable and/or sufficiently aesthetic result cannot be obtained.

Treatment with dental crowns is necessary if a large part of the dental crown has been affected. In this case, it is necessary to process the outstanding crown surface in order to cover it with a dental crown that will protect the resulting abutment and restore the masticatory function and the aesthetics of the tooth.

Tooth enamel

The following factors lead to enamel damage:

✅Lack of minerals
Damage to the enamel, its thinning and the appearance of cracks on its surface can be a sign of a lack of minerals (fluorine and calcium), as well as a lack of vitamins.
The opposite situation, in which too much fluoride enters the body, causes fluorosis, which also worsens the condition of the enamel, causing spots to appear on its surface.

✅Hereditary predisposition
There are people whose enamel is thinner than normal, which makes it more susceptible to damage.

✅Poor hygiene
Incorrect or inconsistent dental hygiene leads to carious lesions. Foods rich in acids such as acidic fruits, eaten frequently, can contribute to the destruction of enamel.

✅Excessive mechanical stress
The consumption of hard food, and vicious habits, such as opening bottles or cracking nuts with the teeth, red nails, etc. lead to enamel damage over time.
Smoking, chocolate and other sweets, alcohol, carbonated drinks and coffee in large quantities also negatively affect the condition of the enamel. You should not abuse these products and after use it would be good to rinse your mouth or brush your teeth.

✅Anatomical characteristics of the tooth structure, for example, deep and branching cracks

✅Systemic diseases that affect the general condition of the body

✅Chemical composition of saliva

✅Problems with the digestive system
Sudden temperature changes in the oral cavity caused by cold water immediately after a hot drink can create cracks in the enamel. It is also not recommended to consume very cold and hot drinks and foods.

✅Unbalanced occlusion
