Neurodivergent Christmas 🎄

Please take a peek at these infographics from The Contented Child Psychology. Some great resources.

Take into consideration the extra sensory load, unspoken expectations and different routines, the inability for some children and young people to manage emotions and the anxiety of eating new foods with sensory issues.

There will be more noise, smells, visitors, excitement and families may experience more stress, emotional dysregulation and meltdowns than usual.

Take some time to ground yourselves regularly throughout the days. Breathing, butterfly taps, Modelling calm will help reduce your own feelings of stress and de-escalate your child’s behaviour as required.

Christmas is for your family to do what is best for you. Don’t meet expectations of others. Just do it your way for your children.

Take care and see you on the other side 🧑🏻‍🎄❤️

Good morning, lovely humans. I need your help!!!

My team and I are finding that lots of counsellors and youth workers are finding that training to support Neurodivergent people is just not practical enough to use in their 1-1 spaces or therapy rooms.

We want to build out a training programme based on all of our experience of understanding school attendance barriers, being Neurodivergent and how to make therapeutic spaces more accessible.

I have written a few courses already and delivered them and we want ti expand on this.

My question - As a parent/ carer/ youth professional. What are the things you want to know to support your child or young person?

What are the things you wish professionals knew so they could support your child better?

I appreciate that some of this might be very personal, so feel free to drop me a DM if that's easier - I can't offer therapy advice via email but we will take your thoughts and opinions very seriously to help us help more people.

Thank you so much 😍

Students with ADHD are not unfocused on purpose. Their brains thrive with structure, clarity, movement, and small, manageable steps. When we offer clear goals, reduce visual distractions, use noise tools, build in movement, and celebrate progress, we create an environment where attention feels possible instead of overwhelming. These strategies do not just support learning, they support confidence. With the right tools, students with ADHD can focus, thrive, and show their full potential.
