Diana Ross was my role model when I was growing up.

I wanted to look like her and have hair like her.

However, I didn't realise I knew someone who was a role model and a superhero.

My Mum

The more I learnt about her, the more I admired her.

My mum became a widow while raising four children in her twenties in London.

As the oldest child in her family, she was still expected to support her mother and siblings by sending money for school fees, etc.

Which she did

I am a mum
with a husband,
and a washing machine
with a fraction of my mum's responsibilities and challenges.

Life can still be challenging at times.

So, I cannot imagine what it felt like for her.

Mums are often taken for granted.

People say they are
"Doing what they are supposed to be doing"
" are hardworking."
" are used to it"
" are strong."
or
"It's easy for them."

Which can all be true

But those who work hard to support others also deserve to be supported.

So what can we do to support the superheroes like my mum today?

Well, I want to set up a community group of women.

To create a space so they can

Express what they really feel.

Unburden their anxieties

Feel heard

And supported.

What is Authentic African Black Soap?

Authentic West African black soap was first made in Nigeria by women of the Yoruba tribe.

It is made with potash which can be described as the ashes of vegetable skins, plantains, or cocoa pods.

Plant oils like coconut oil and palm oil, shea butter, are cooked in a cauldron. The soap takes on its unassuming color once this process is completed and many are surprised to find out that authentic African black soap, is not black at all, it is dark brown.

It is so technical to make that in a family of four children only one of them would master this skill. Just slight 'over cooking' during the smoky process would spoil the whole batch!

Why use Authentic African Black soap?

As you can see in the ingredients African black soap is completely natural. Made with vegetable oils that can be used for cooking, my soap maker says you can eat authentic African black soap. I am not suggesting you do that.

Traditionally Black soap is mild enough to bathe newborn babies. The combination of the properties and benefits of the natural oils that are in African Black soap makes this unassuming-looking soap a very impressive, amazing cleansing bar. It also helps many common skin complaints including shaving bumps, rashes, acne, eczema, and oily skin. Buy one here

Have you had to live with dark patches of hyperpigmentation on your face for several years now?

You finally won the battle of acne, you got over eczema, but the war against the skin scarring that has occurred because of it has lasted far far longer.

Do you feel you not only lost the fight against hyperpigmentation but you have lost some of your confidence along the way.

Hyperpigmentation is the excess melanin production that happens because of post operation scars, wound injuries. Melasma that can occur in pregnancy, eczema scars, hormonal changes during the menopause, or liver spots are also forms of hyperpigmentation

If you picked your spots when you were younger you are likely to have the scars of evidence of this still, in adulthood in the form of dark patches

Many women will use makeup to cover up this condition, but many men will not. So how can you or they get rid of it?

• Use a sun protector whenever you go out in the sun. The sun exacerbates hyperpigmentation. as sun helps you to produce more melanin.
• Prevention is better than cure – Keep your hands away from your skin that way you are less likely to pick it.
• Have a healthy diet

What I have found to be quite effective cream for hyper pigmentation is using Monshea shea butter.

Adopting a simple skin care regime with combination of African Black soap with Neem oil and Shea butter or Pure Shea oil is useful.

Neem oil & Shea butter contains vitamin E.
Vitamin E fades scars including acne scars. They both have anti inflammatory properties.
Eric had very bad acne scarring as a teenager. Using Shea butter and black soap helped the scarring to fade away.

Amazing African Black soap to try right now!

I always wanted to have a business that opens the market for African based businesses.

I also wanted to sell African black soap that did not have Palm oil due to sustainable issues or parabens or SLS that can cause potential harm

It took me over a year to find a soap maker in Ghana who agreed to make black soap according to my specifications.

We deal with each other directly, so he does not have to sell at deflated prices to a middleman. In order to get ingredients at affordable prices he has to travel to nearby Burkina Faso.

Full profits go to his family, and he can reinvest in his business.
This motivates me to sell my Monshea African Black soap what will motivate you to try it?
