Eighteen months ago, I decided to quit playing it safe and go all out to build a business as an online transformational coach and therapist.
I had returned to live in the UK just five short years before this, after four decades in Zimbabwe, and I was no stranger to change, turmoil, or stepping out of my comfort zone. So, while working a 9-5 job, enrolling in a marketing program, and completing other important trainingโall while living with and managing chronic painโ I took a leap of faith and trusted that the wings that had always held me up would carry me once again.
Iโve invested everything I have into building a brand and putting myself out there, learning all I could about social media marketing. Burning the candle at both ends, I juggled all my other responsibilities and stressors. I pushed through every physical, emotional, and mindset obstacle imaginable because living a life of scarcity in a dead-end 9-5 job on the eternal hamster wheel was never an option for me. Making the decision not to settle but to strike out on the path of entrepreneurship is a decision I would not change for anything.
Have there been moments I wanted to give up? Oh yes. But failure has never been an option for me. The resilience and grit I developed throughout my lifeโfacing adversity, fighting, and slaying my own dragonsโhave helped me create a bulletproof success mindset. That is worth all the sweat, tears, and pain.
My journey has not been linear, and nor is yours. Like everyone else, my mindset sways at times because it will never be perfect, and thatโs okay. I still have a way to go, and thatโs okay too. There will always be twists and turns. But my vision for the future is in sight now, and I know I will get there. You can too.
If you are an entrepreneur with ADHD looking to create a bulletproof mindset, I hope this post inspires you and instils within you the belief that anything is possible. Because most things are.
