⏰ Certificate Expiry Reminder

First aid certificates don’t last forever — and it’s easy for renewal dates to be missed during a busy year.

Most first aid qualifications are valid for 3 years. To remain compliant in the workplace, refresher or requalification training must be completed before the certificate expires, ensuring first aiders continue to meet HSE guidance.

Now is a good time to:
✔️ Check the expiry dates on staff first aid certificates
✔️ Book refresher or requalification training in advance
✔️ Maintain adequate and appropriate first aid provision

Keeping certificates current helps employers to:
✔️ Demonstrate that first aiders have up-to-date knowledge and practical skills
✔️ Show evidence of ongoing competence during inspections or audits
✔️ Meet the requirement for adequate and appropriate first aid provision
✔️ Reduce risk if an incident is investigated

John explores what good listening actually looks like in practice, why our tone, body language and facial expressions matter just as much as our words, and what to avoid when someone is struggling (rushing, giving advice too quickly, comparing stories, or minimising emotions). John also shares practical ways to improve everyday conversations, at home and at work, by listening to understand, not just listening to reply.
