please read before you look at the shared post.
Due to the predicated temperature until 10am on Tuesday 15th July, we have made the decision to close Cuffley on Monday 14th July, but Valley View will be open. Cuffley will be open again at 8am on Tuesday 15th July.

Due to the extreme heat in the building and the lack of air conditioning, we’re finding that the environment has become increasingly challenging to work in. The windows that do open are positioned high up, which limits airflow and makes it particularly difficult for our dedicated team who are stationed there throughout the day.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of both our staff and patients, we’ve made the decision to temporarily close this site on Monday. However, Valley View will be open, and all staff will be relocated there for the time being.
Phone lines will be diverted, and the same level of service will continue to be provided, just from one location instead of two.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

With an amber heat alert issued across England, remember that vulnerable people are more at risk from higher temperatures.

Make sure elderly family and friends keep hydrated, and wear sunscreen if going out. Visit the NHS website for helpful advice.

Living Well Taking Control is hosting a free patient webinar on 9th July 2025 from 12:00-12:40 for Alcohol Awareness Week to raise awareness of the shared risk factors between alcohol, Type 2 diabetes, and the importance of early intervention in diabetes prevention.

This session is designed for patients who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes but have not yet accessed the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP). We are particularly keen to engage patients from deprived areas, ethnic minority backgrounds, younger demographics, and those with a history of gestational diabetes (GDM), as these groups are at higher risk.

Why is this important?
Early intervention can significantly reduce the likelihood of Type 2 diabetes and its complications, improve long-term health outcomes, and reduce strain on healthcare services.

Through this webinar, attendees will:
✔ Learn how alcohol and diabetes are linked
✔ Understand the importance of addressing prediabetes early
✔ Gain practical tips on healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, and better sleep
✔ Discover free NHS resources available to support lifestyle changes

Webinar Details:

📅 Date: 9th July 2025 @ 12:00-12:40pm

Please be aware of the below notification we have received:

There will be a hard closure of Northaw Road East at Cattlegate Road between 23rd July – 27th August while Cadent carry out pipe replacements.

There will be access only allowed from Cuffley to the Playing Field, and homes/businesses on Northaw Road East, but there will be no access through to Cuffley from Cattlegate Road, or Northaw, except via Vineyards Road.

The works need to happen for public safety and they cannot do the work using traffic lights, as the road is too narrow for the trench required for the works plus the safety distance required for the crew to carry out the work, so the road has to close.

NOTICE:
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
THE HERTFORDSHIRE (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B156 NORTHAW ROAD EAST, CUFFLEY) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Northaw Road East, Cuffley from its junction with Cattlegate Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 625m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B156 (Northaw Road West/Coopers Lane/Judges Hill/The Causeway), A1000 (Hatfield Road/Great North Road), B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway/East Ridgeway/Plough Lane) and B156 Northaw Road East.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 July 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).

If you have any queries about the proposed Order, please contact Jasmine Woods tel. 01379 676462 at TMI Highways or Karen Turney tel. 0300 123 4047 at Hertfordshire County Council.

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide)

NHS England and NICE have approved the use of Tirzepatide, which you may also know as Mounjaro® or ‘the weight loss drug’, from primary care. You may well hear that Tirzepatide is available from primary care from 23rd June 2025. However, in the first two years entry criteria have been set by NHS England to a very small number of people. This is to allow safe entry of this repurposed medicine into the health system.

Please only contact us if you are eligible, this means you have a BMI of 40 or higher and at least FOUR of these additional conditions, which will already have been diagnosed by your GP or another medical professional:
· Hypertension
· Dyslipidaemia
· Obstructive sleep apnoea
· Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD)
· Type 2 diabetes mellitus
