Mental Health Awareness Week 2026: Small Actions, Big Difference

Next week marks Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, taking place from 11–17 May. This year’s theme is “Action” — highlighting that while awareness matters, meaningful change happens when we take positive steps to support our mental wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.

Mental health affects us all. Whether it’s stress, anxiety, low mood, loneliness or feeling overwhelmed, many people experience challenges with their mental wellbeing at different points in life. Talking openly, checking in with one another, and knowing where to find support can make a real difference.

We want to encourage our patients and community to take a moment this week to focus on mental wellbeing — for yourself, for someone else, and for our wider community.

Sometimes, small actions can help more than we realise:

Taking a short walk outdoors
Speaking to someone you trust
Making time to rest and recharge
Reaching out for professional support
Checking in on a friend, neighbour or family member

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available. You are not alone.

You can find helpful advice, local services, self-help resources and mental health support on our wellbeing page:

Let’s continue the conversation around mental health — not just this week, but every day. 💚
