That knot in your stomach the night before you fly.

“Just start” sounds simple, but it’s actually where everything shifts.

Solution Focused Therapy isn’t about digging endlessly into what’s wrong, it’s about noticing what’s already working, even in the smallest way, and building from there. You don’t need the full plan. You don’t need perfect confidence. You just need one small, doable step.

Because action creates clarity, not the other way around.

So instead of asking “Why am I stuck?” try “What’s one tiny thing I could do today that moves me even 1% forward?”

Start there. Then repeat.

Momentum isn’t found, it’s created.

Ever notice how one thought can turn into a whole story? Then that spirals and loops round and round feeling bigger, scarier, causing anxiety, low mood and low self esteem.

Halt the spiral of words in their tracks by replacing the softening words instead:
Maybe
Not certain
Just now
I can pause
I’m okay
One small step
Yet

You don’t have to fix the whole story, just soften it, ground yourself by focusing on what you do know or imagining the opposite being true.

From:
“What if everything goes wrong?”

To:
“What’s actually true right now?”

You can’t always stop the thoughts but you can make them
more positive and change the direction of them.
