Anxiety often shows up like an umbrella it wants to protect us. The problem is, if we hold it open all the time, it can block the sunshine, keep us on guard, and stop us from feeling present.

The work isn’t about throwing the umbrella away. It’s about learning when to carry it, when to close it, and how to trust that you’ll be okay without it sometimes.

Derealization vs. Depersonalization

🧠Derealization → the world feels unreal (dreamlike, foggy, distant).

🧠Depersonalization → you feel unreal (disconnected from your body or thoughts).

Both are forms of dissociation your brain’s way of protecting you under stress.

They can feel uncomfortable but they’re not dangerous.

When we treat depersonalization and derealization as discomfort, not a danger the amygdala stops seing them as a threat.

They are a response to stress so let’s release the stress!

As the days grow shorter and the nights arrive earlier, many of us notice our energy dipping and our mood shifting. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is more common than you might think and it can feel like the autumn blues are weighing heavily on your shoulders.

If you’ve been feeling more tired, low, or withdrawn, you’re not alone. The change of season affects our bodies and minds in very real ways.

Most importantly, be patient with yourself. Slowing down is part of the rhythm of this season. šŸ

And if you notice your low mood lingering or becoming hard to manage, reaching out for support can make a huge difference. You don’t have to navigate this season alone

šŸ’šReminder Before the Test

On Sunday, 7 September 2025, at 3:00 pm, the UK Government will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alerts system. During this:
• Compatible 4G and 5G phones and tablets across the UK will emit a loud siren-like sound, vibrate, and display a message stating it’s only a test—even if your device is set to silent.
• The alert will last around 10 seconds and requires no action on your part.

Phones will make a loud siren sound, vibrate, and show a test message.

If you have a hidden/safety phone, this could reveal it. You can:

Turn your phone off before 3pm OR

Switch off alerts in settings:

iPhone → Settings > Notifications > turn off Severe & Extreme Alerts

Android → Settings > Emergency Alerts > turn off Severe & Extreme Alerts
