We absolutely value every member of our team (and yes, we have some brilliant men too!) — but today we shine a light on the amazing women who help our community thrive.

💙 Diabetes Remission Information Event – Thank You for Coming!

We recently held a fantastic and very well-attended diabetes remission information event at the surgery, focusing on the Momenta Newcastle, Cheshire & Merseyside Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme — and it was a huge success.

A big thank you to Issy from Momenta Newcastle, who joined us to explain how the programme works and brought along sample diet-replacement products including soups, shakes and porridges. She shared lots of practical tips on how to use them in everyday life, and there were some really positive and encouraging conversations with patients.

This free NHS programme runs for 12 months and supports adults with type 2 diabetes who are above a healthy weight and were diagnosed in recent years.

🩺 Diabetes remission does not mean a cure — it means blood sugar levels return to a non-diabetic range without diabetes medication. Ongoing healthy habits and regular check-ups are still important.

The programme includes:
✔️ A low-calorie diet phase using soups, shakes and porridges
✔️ A gradual return to normal food
✔️ Ongoing support from a trained health coach

If you think this programme could be right for you, please speak to a member of the practice team to find out more or ask about a referral.

💬 Thank you to everyone who came along — it was great to see so much interest and engagement!
