Recovery happens best at home🏡

We work with patients, families, and carers to plan for a safe return home, starting from day one in hospital.

Ask us anytime about preparing for discharge. It’s never too early.

A few small steps that you can help with can make a big difference: transport, clothing, food, medicines, home safety, and carer support.

Together, we can make going home smoother and safer. 💙

Today is World Down Syndrome Day and the theme this year is 'Together Against Loneliness'

Studies have found that people with intellectual disabilities are more likely to be lonely than people without disabilities.

Loneliness happens when people are not supported to build and maintain connections with other people.

Being present is not the same as being included.

To stop loneliness, every person needs:

✅to be truly included in school, jobs and community life. Not just 'being there' but taking part
✅to feel welcome and valued, to be invited to join in and to be safe from stigma
✅to have strong, supportive and meaningful relationships with friends, family and partners

At the NHS, we want to make sure parents have a good experience of care for their babies. Getting feedback from parents helps us improve and give parents and babies what they need.

If your baby had neonatal care during June, July, August 2025, you may be invited to take part in the Neonatal Care Experience Survey. If you are invited, you will get a letter with more information.
