“I knew I was in safe hands.”

When Jayne Buckley from Prescot came to Warrington Hospital for thyroid surgery, she admits she was nervous – but says the care she received made all the difference.

“From my very first visit with my surgeon, I felt well informed and listened to. On the day of surgery, the team in theatre were amazing – especially my surgeon who reassured me, I knew I was in safe hands.”

Jayne stayed overnight after her operation and wanted to share her gratitude for the ‘wonderful’ care she received.

“The whole experience at Warrington Hospital was so good. I’m so grateful to the surgeon who fixed me with such skill, removing a huge mass from my throat. The improvement to how I look and feel is amazing!”

Thank you, Jayne, for sharing your story and well done to our incredible surgical and theatre teams for their care and compassion 💙

As young people spend more time at school or activities away from home, we’re not always nearby to monitor their asthma symptoms.

You are never too old for a mammogram.

If you are 71 or older, your risk of developing breast cancer is higher than it was when you were younger.

Although you will no longer receive automatic invitations for breast screening after age 71, you can still self-refer every three years.

Simply contact your local NHS breast screening service to make an appointment.
