This X-ray speaks a thousand words..
I have had more than a few patients recently with forefoot issues related to footwear.
Imagine going to the GP with a sore wrist then presenting them with a hand in a 4 year old's mitten.
"take the mitten off", would probably be sage advice.
Your foot isnโt meant to be squeezed and forced into someone elseโs idea of โnormalโ
You can either have a foot-shaped shoe or shoe-shaped feet.
Over time, that means:
โข Crowded toes
โข Reduced strength
โข Poor mechanics
โข Pain that creeps in and sticks around
The good news? Itโs not a life sentence and we can often reverse you out of a lot of these issues with a little dedicated work over the intermediate term.
Strong feet, better movement and less pain can mean happier knees, hips, backs and quality of life as father time does what he does best.
